I certainly do hope Trump wins. If not we are in for pure Hell. I put nothing past the Democrats but thankfully there are a lot more people watching their antics this election.
I have been using my Competitor Arms in 30.06 for a lot of years and have taken a number of Whitetails with it. I had the opportunity to use an XP100 on a number of occasions also and I actually prefer the Cannon Breech of the Competitor. I have a couple of different barrels for the competitor...
Took my Moose at exactly 150 yards with my Browning A-Bolt in 30.06 with 180 grain Partition. 1st shot behind the shoulder he looked at me for a minute and then started walking around circles. 2nd shot same spot he stopped and then fell over. He was finished when I walked up to him. Lucky for me...
Vince, if Trump wins the presidency (which I certainly hope he does) we are going to have problems. They've already tried to kill him on numerous occasions and that won't end once he is in office. Our major problem are the people themselves. To get enough citizens to fight for what is right is...
Jim, about five years ago I went to our local gun show just for something to do. I like to get there first thing to see if any private sales offer anything that I can't live without. Well I come upon a table with 7 rifles on it. The fellow is selling off the ranch owner's gun collection. Low and...
Reading all the comments about Leupold scopes makes me glad I have a Kahles 3X9 on my .300WM and a Zeiss on my .338RUM. Knock on wood I haven't had a second's worth of problems with them. I also have Leupold scopes though, a 2.5X8 on my 7-08 and a 1.5X4 on my AR. So far so good. They are lighter...
Jim, when I purchased my .338 Ultra Mag I thought long and hard about the scope I wanted. Midway USA was having a scope sale and I happened to see a Zeiss Diavari in 1.5X6 for an excellent price. I purchased it along with Warne Mounts and it has served me perfectly for Elk on Down. My longest...
Agree 100 percent. I've had mine since it's inception and I was continually amazed at how fast it dropped animals. Great long range caliber. The recoil is something you adjust to but in cooler weather with a jacket or heavy sweatshirt not a problem.
Guys, I try to look at it on the positive side. I've had a Heart Attack along with some other side issues and I move through the woods a lot slower. I find though that moving slow gives you the ability to see a lot more. I'll be 81 before too much longer but my brain keeps telling me I'm 25 and...
Don't want to sound negative on the RMEF but about 12 years ago I was Elk hunting in Colorado on a leased piece of property near the town of Oak Creek. Hunted this same spot for a good number of years and was great friends with the owner. A good number of Elk were taken by myself and my hunting...
I noticed no one mentioned toilet paper. It has many uses in addition to its normal use which I can guarantee you will happen once you're in the woods about a 1/4 of a mile.:ROFLMAO: After reading the post again I see that Toilet paper was mentioned a couple of times. Good thinking!!!!
I hate to say it but I believe you are correct. Of course if Harris does get in she won't be running the country. The behind the scenes people will take over. I do see communism and Socialism rearing their head and once the constitution is gone that will be the end all.
Scotty, I have a 7MM-08 barrel for my Competitor Arms Pistol and I can tell you it is quite a shooter. I'm sure a Thompson Contender with that barrel would do just as well.
I would give Midway a quick look for those bullets. I purchased a box of 200 grain bullets for my .35 Remington a while back and ended up with 200 grain Remington bullets.
As has been said full length resize and understand that the case shrinks just a little bit after firing. Headspace off the shoulder and not the case mouth. Everglades ammo makes bullets for this caliber (the shoulder is set higher) I use a Lee factory crimp die as it eliminates bullet setback...
