My house sits at 4500 and these pix are at 5500 ish. The bulls got stuck in some rock cliffs by heavy snow and ice. But it’s happening all over the state. It’s just a heavy snow year for us and we haven’t had a good winter for awhile-it’s nature and it happens. Cars kill an awful lot of animals!
My limited experience with the .375’s is that they are inherently accurate. I’m shooting different bullets than you tried but it was fun to work up a good Load with an expanding bullet and then a solid “just in case”
Very cool about your friends dad, glad he made that trip while he still could!
Rl 22 and 200 gr. trophy bonded bear claws are a favorite load in my .300 wm rem 700. Over 20 African animals and never had a complaint. I’m a huge fan of Mrp in my 7 mm stw, was not aware it was the same as rl 22, will have to test it when the snow melts
My immediate thought was shock but not damage to the spine. I really like the Accubond long range for deer but out of a 7mm-08, I don’t like the regular Accubond above 140 grain bullets. That’s just me and my experiences with both. Also my guns shoot them accurately at different velocity than...
Interesting someone said woodleigh. Since their shop burnt down a year or two so ago they have been non existent (duh) but they have been awful at supplying information as to if or when they are rebuilding. I suspect they didn’t even know-insurance or what have you. Just this year they are...
I did not cast a vote-each manufacturer makes some bullet i really like. Each rifle shoots one or another better than one or another.
My overall favorite bullet is the trophy bonded bear claw-the old original ones. I have a bunch in each caliber and if I had to pick just one-that would...
Ordered a couple items earlier this week. Got a e mail from a guy saying one of the items could not be filled and I could cancel the whole Order or just that part. I responded and they got the order correct. No issues. I have had problems before where I left messages on the phone and they...
There are three within 45 minutes of my house (utah) and I will pass them all to go to scheels -1hour. They carry name brands we all like but their sales staff/customer service is just awful. I still use a small local store for all my gun purchases. Recently they took down the vast majority...
Foxes not even protected in my state but you must have a fur bearers license to take a badger. I shoot them mostly with a camera these days but won’t begrudge another hunter the right to take one. Sadly Cars get Most of them.
I carry an empty bottle of baby aspirin with me when I hunt. It has been refilled with a dozen chewable baby aspirin in it as well as matches, mohair, band aids, salt tablets anti diarrheal pills, some Benadryl tabs and some energy tabs. Craig Boddington put a good video on YouTube about...
