Thanks guys, also picked up a vectronix terrapin that just showed up. Vectronix has quit making this unit so they can focus more on the higher end military stuff. I thought I better get one before you couldn't.
It is a 1-8 twist barrel. The chassis is a ACCURACY INTERNATIONAL AX chassis. You may want to look at the 2014 version for your build. I will be getting one for the .308 I am going to be using next year for the matches I shoot. I think they are around $1500. You may be able to get one like mine...
Just put this together last week, bought it for the girlfriend to use. Remington 700, Broughton barrel, AX chasis, premier 5-25 56 with spuhr mount. Shoots a 105 berger hybrid at 3150. Took it up to jordan last Saturday and won it.
Not an end all but, a 7-300 norma would be interesting. I am not sure what you could get a 180 hybrid up to but I would think 3300 would be attainable. May be my next endeavor.
First off, I won't be doing it until next year, no tags available until then. I will be using either my 6x47 or the .243 ackley. I sold off my bigger guns, I can't seem to get a tag for anything in montana and I see no reason to have a $6500 set up sitting in the safe most of the time. Either of...
I just won a match in casper wyoming last Saturday on the Q creek ranch in the Shirley mountains, Q creek is the largest contiguous ranch in the rocky mountains with 540,000 plus acres. First place consisted of a 3 day fully guided hunt with lodging and free taxidermy for the antelope. Prize...
A 6mm variant able to shoot heavy for caliber bullets and a 300 win mag that can shoot 200-230 class bullets. I have seen the 6mm take deer efficiently past the 600 yard mark, and the 300 past the 900 mark. Just my opinion, but for North American game I believe the 300 win, norma, Weatherby or...
Try a 140 amax, they work great on game. I have shot several deer and antelope.with the amax bullets in several calibers and they have all performed well. I think I have a few laying around here if you want to try them. PM me if you want them.
Thanks guys, as far as weight, heavy. I didn't draw a tag for antelope but she did, go figure. Maybe I will put a coyote tally in the hunting column if your interested, good crop of them this year. I figured out how to post pics so that will help. I will let you know how it shoots, if it...
Should work well mike, I will be using the 105 berger hybrid. This should operate around 3200-3250ish. She drew an antelope tag so I guess I justified the purchase that way. I guess if she doesn't like it I can find a use for it??? Ha. I will get some photos up soon.
I recently bought my girlfriend a rifle off of snipershide for her to shoot coyotes with and shoot a match if she wants.
