I tried the 120gr Nosler ballistic tip to get the 3185 group and the Barnes 120gr TTSX to get the 3148 group. I have loaded some more of the Barnes to try in my son's Browning to see what velo I get in that rifle. My savage always shoots fast.
Tested a couple loads yesterday based on the info from Dr. Mike
I stayed below max and got a group with 120gr bullets to read 3148 fps and 3185 fps. I knew TAC would produce some unreal velocities in my savage 110 that seems to always shoot fast.
From the sounds of it, everyone on here is pretty much of the same belief as me; accuracy is more important than velocity. However getting the best of both and remaining safe is a nice bonus. I have only gone over book max a couple of times and when I did it resulted in a marriage of tiny...
So I have loaded for 7-08 and 308 for several years now. I have a couple pounds of Ramshot TAC and it is phenomenal in my 308. This has made me wonder if TAC would be applicable for my 7-08? Western powers does not list as an option and neither does Hodgon, so I may running in the wrong...
I use the BL-C2 load with 120 TTSX in my son's 7-08. Killed several deer. Farthest has went 10 yards after the shot. We are actually going out with it this afternoon for free youth weekend in KY.
This is just a question and I am looking for a little feedback, not to be chastised, lol! I had a 243 a few years ago that I could not get to shoot anywhere close to "normal" velocities even at book max on a couple of different powders. It may have been someone on here or someone else that asked...
The 7mm ballistic tips are spoken for.
I will entertain any offers on the 243 bullets. If anyone would want the entire lot I would be willing to ship all at once.
