Today got around to shoot some of those in my S2 Vanguard. I’m using American Reloading MP-521 powder , sold as BL-C2 equivalent. This stuff has given me good ES in every cartridge I’ve tried it in. Overall I’m satisfied in the outcome on a small work up.

120' BT's in the 7mm -08 have been used with great effect by quite a few posters here. At one point it was suggested that they were the same bullet as a 140. Made them tougher...and quicker. At least that's what some espoused. CL

That should do. What do you plan to use them on?
I have yet need to try my 180 TTSX from the 300 WM on nilgai one of these days. Several months ago I have worked up a stout load at 3260 fps without pressure, but backed off to 3240 fps for accuracy. Only thing was I saw a little vertical @100 or maybe it was me, but nilgai won't know what hit em.

More of a tinkering project , load up some single round to find pressure or run out case capacity then put some on paper. These were rounds 11-16. First 7 were 45-50 grains to see where I would pressure out , done last Sunday. Yesterday 8-10 were shot to warm the barrel.
I now know these will work with a little tweaking if I chose to use them at some point.

I’ve never shot a Nilgai, hell I’ve only seen two while touring through south Texas a couple years ago. I’ve seen a number of elk killed with the 180ttsx out of 300mags of various persuasion and 06s. They were all dead when we determined the bullet worked as advertised.

My little daughter has a 7mm-08 Winchester featherweight m70. She also shoots the 120 ttsx and I load it over bl-c2. I use nickel plated cases and over 47 grains and it shoots very accurate. I really like that bullet as well, although we loaded some ttbc 140 for when she hunts elk.IMG_8381.jpeg

I use the BL-C2 load with 120 TTSX in my son's 7-08. Killed several deer. Farthest has went 10 yards after the shot. We are actually going out with it this afternoon for free youth weekend in KY.

You all have gotten me wanting to try BLC-2 in my 7mm08 just to see what groups I can get out of it. Never considered using it before. Thanks.

It one of those powders that does well in many calibers for me. May not be the faster or most accurate , just plain reliable for me weather it’s a 204 Ruger to the 458 WM.

I also use it in 7mm-08 with a 100 gr Sierra varmint bullet, bl-c2 seems to work well in this caliber with the lighter bullets

I happened to load some 120 ttsx in my 7mm-08 today. My load is 50gr Leverevolution with a CCI 250m primer in Starline .308 brass. Couldn’t find 7mm-08 brass for a good while but I do have some Starline 7mm-08 now. I get 3250fps in a 22” barrel with this load, accuracy is about an inch which is as good as I’ve seen my M70 featherweight shoot anything.

50grs of MP-521 gave me 3196 fps. That was the highest I load up to test. The brass I’m using is the older Winchester brass (the good stuff).

I bought Winchester brass for several cartridges based on reputation but it’s ranged from horrible to not great. I know the older stuff was pretty good (white/blue bag) but the black and red bag stuff…I’m done with it.
