Have you chronoed that load? I wonder how that bullet does at lower velocity. I've shot deer with that bullet close to 1600 fps in my 454 and it holds together very well.
Not sure why they have to discontinue all of them and relaunch a "new" one. Unfortunately getting and installing a switch is becoming ridiculously easy. We're seeing it more and more on the job. I'm glad to see them addressing it.
Also if using H110/W296 do NOT go below minimum charge weights and use magnum primers for best results. Its a great powder for top velocity in the 44 among others.
Nice shooting y'all. I'm suprised from the lack of blood trail on the bow buck. The Accubond or Partition would be dynamite in the 6mm Rem. Those Ruger Number 1's are great looking rifles.
I got back from the woods this morning with my biggest whitetail ever. I sat in a stand that sits right between a large oak bottom and a pine thicket. I've had excellent luck in this stand and shot a good buck last year out of it. About a week or so ago, I started getting pictures of one of the...
I don't think you could go wrong with a 25 Creedmoor, 257 Roberts, 6.5x55, or 7x57 for bottleneck rounds. The 45-70 is definitely not a bad choice either! I love my Marlin 1895SBL. If you handload, you can make some fun shooting ammo for the range all the way up to laying out anything with four...
Awesome shooting as always and sweet pistols. I'm also a fan of the Speer Impact bullets. They seem to be a great all around bullet. Nice seeing a 25 Creed, I love the quarter bores.
We had four days straight of rain that finally ended on Monday morning. We needed it but we got a lot! I went out to my hunt club this morning to check on things as two of my stands are in the swamp. This is a before and after pic of the stand. This is the same stand I shot my buck in that I...
The lightest bullet I've done so far has been the 154gr Hornady Interbond in mine. I've only used Staball HD and got decent results but it was a lighter load. I'm going to revisit that bullet with the same powder and maybe H1000 and LRT. I've had great results with LRT with the 168gr ABLR. A...
A guy on a now defunct forum loved these in his 30-30 AI out of a Contender Carbine. I don't think muzzle velocity was more than 2800 fps but they did awesome for him on deer and hogs. By far the softest Barnes copper bullets I've ever seen. I'm sure they'd work fine at even higher velocity but...
