This^ Hammer bullets acted a lot like Partitions except they are lead-free. They are the easiest bullets i have found to find an accurate load for, they kill game quickly with very little bloodshot meat, they are expensive but you get what you pay for.

I've had excellent accuracy and velocity with RL26 and StaBall 6.5 with 100g Ballistic tips and 80gr Hammer Hunters.

Hammers actually do best light and fast, plus the 107g Hammer HBC has a very high b.allistic coefficient.

Those 107g Hammer HBC would be awesome at 3400 to 3500 fps.

I bought a bunch of 150g Accubond blems several years ago and they shoot great with IMR 4350. I've also used RL26 with those with excellent accuracy and more velocity. As mentioned above, lots of powders work well in the 280.

I retired 10 years ago, I spent most of my life deer hunting on horseback. Packing into the wilderness to get as far away from the road hunters as possible. My mountain horses have all passed and now I mostly hunt coyotes and target shoot on my 65 acres. I have a 100, 200 and 300 yard target...

I'm sure I had one when I was reloading for my 270wsm, but when I sold my rifle I included the reloading dies, must have included that as well.

I sold my 270 wsm a several years ago. Jim, are you saying Hornady never made a modified case for the 270 wsm? I thought I had one and I'll look when I get home, unless they never have made one for that caliber.

I had PacNor rebarreled my m70 to a 25-06 several years ago, they did an excellent job. I went with a 1in9 twist, wish I had gone with an 8 or 7.5. Hammer bullets makes some great monos, they are accurate and deadly on game.
