Hammers actually do best light and fast, plus the 107g Hammer HBC has a very high b.allistic coefficient.Yet they have heavier Hammers in 25 cal already, but aren't using them???

Pretty much all I am using lately. Hammers and LRX's. The hammers provide super accuracy, awesome on game performance, phenomenal availability. The only down side is cost, but you get what you pay for. Practice with ordinary bullets and hunt with them.Hammers actually do best light and fast, plus the 107g Hammer HBC has a very high ballistic coefficient.
Order placed MKV 6 lug, 25 WBY RPM.Fotis,
Since you have every caliber, each in a different Mark V variant, maybe now is the opportunity to try a 307. I looked at a few of them when we were in Sheridan in 2024 and they sure were nice!

I really want to build one as well and am making an effort to go down that path. Just trying to decide on what and what I would want the gun built for. With those kind of speeds, it's geared more towards hunting than target shooting. If you want targets, just get the Creedmoor. Has the advantage of premium brass also.
Not a bad cartridge really. I like the sounds of it! They seem pretty conservative on the 133 Berger at 3K. Handloaders should be able to get it up to 31-3200fps I would imagine. I would still prefer to build one rather than buy one from Weatherby. They are pretty proud of their stuff. Just some things I would prefer like a heavier 26"-28" tube and an overall heavier rifle. I also am curious to see if they put all that crazy freebore into them like the typical WBY calibers. Not a fan of it.
Excellent choice in rifle! The Live Wild, Patrick.
Ordered one box of ammo and brass also. These are on the way. No dies anywhere as of yet but I can figure that out like I usually do. Neck sizing only and seating is not an issue.
Except another Wby cartridge is going to drop in a couple months!!Congratulations Fotis. The Live Wild edition is very nice. I looked real hard at that one but ultimately decided on the Accumark. Then I lucked into the Accumark Limited.
I think you will be happy with the Live Wild edition.
BTW, once you get the 25 Wby RPM, your Weatherby collection will now be complete....for now.
