Map of public lands to be sold under Senate Bill

Looks like it has been pulled for now. Needed 60% of the senate for this type of legislation on this type of bill apparently. A related order by Trump just came out to allow road construction, development and such on National Forest land in currently roadless areas. My Dad designed alot of the...

Loading Nosler 100 grain BTSP in .257 Roberts

I have similar issue with 7x57 on short action. I use flat base bullets, which work great. The Nosler partitions would likely be my first choice for big game. Sierra 87 grain varminter for small game is most accurate in 25 cal i have found. You might investigate the Hornady 117 round nose...

    150 vs. 165 (edited)

I like the 168 BT's for Mulies. Shots here run 30 to 450 yards. IMR 4895. Also have used 150 accubonds. At 30 yards made a mess of a front shoulder, tho I don't know if anything wouldn't have. W760. Slow, about 2400 fps from 18" barrel. Good accuracy with 178 ELD X and 180 Accubond, if I use...

Map of public lands to be sold under Senate Bill

This is a map of the national public lands in 11 western states that could be sold under the Senate version of the BBB. It's a huge amount of land. Much include important watersheds for city and agriculture. You can check and see if it is places you hunt or get your water, travel thru etc...

Titegroup sticking and etching powder measure

This powder isn't behaving like other powders. I had to scrub the granules off and it left a dark stain on the plastic.

Titegroup sticking and etching powder measure

Opened a bottle of titegroup today to try some subsonic loads in 308 as a replacement for TrailBoss. Took 12 rounds out to the range and it shot well at 50 yards. Came back in to load some more and found the powder stuck to the sides of the clear plastic hopper on my RCBS measure. Even dawn...

    25 Pronghorn

Ladder tests of loads don't produce that large a spread. Other than scope problems, the only time I have seen groups like that was from unstable bullets tumbling due to a slow twist and low velocity. The bullets whet thru the paper sideways. Just for curiosity you could pull some of the loads...

    Where's the Ladies

The hens are nesting here. Saw the first little chicks weaving thru the grass this week.

Looks like a good one to have slung while picking Huckleberries with a black bear tag in the pocket.

Found my grouse load for deer season, Subsonic 308

Found where to hold the reticle in relation to the scope set for deer load. (lower left shots) It ends up to be holding the lower thick part of the duplex reticle on the bull. Then shot three, 3 shot groups at 50 yards. They all hit in the same spot about the size of a grouse's head. Very...

There has to be Washington residents on here....

Already much of this is required in hunters safety to get a license to hunt bunny rabbits or grouse. Shouldn't they just teach this in school?

    Carbon buildup and Reloder 16?

I had a partial jug that didn't work for another cartridge (too bulky/slow) and it was listed as having high velocity in this round.

    Carbon buildup and Reloder 16?

https://forum.nosler.com/attachments/mr-earl-1-jpeg.26205/ Could be, the other rifle I was using shot normal speeds, but those were subsonic loads, so maybe less noticeable. I'll just keep an eye on it.

    Carbon buildup and Reloder 16?

Haven't a borescope. Money is an issue these days. Are there worthwhile inexpensive versions? It has always shot best clean when I get all the noticeable copper out of the bore. Roughly I clean it every other trip to the range and usually shoot less than 20 rounds a trip. This last group looked...

Need some ideas with this rest

For similar issues when you need to sew thick leather, make holes first with a small drill bit (dremel or cordless). You can mark the hole spacing with the tines of a fork.

    Memorial Day 2025

The local cemetery was packed with visitors. Lots of people in uniform, some were handing out water and flags. All the veterans graves had flags. We heard the 21 gun salute from town. Small towns seem to have given a lot.
