    New 45/70 from Santa!

Tnx Charlie, Will probably hunt it with 325's at 1900. But plan on plinking with it downloaded with Berry's bullets down around 15/1600 to drop recoil waaaay down so it's more fun!

    New 45/70 from Santa!

I promise to get it scratched up asap so it's a non issue! To be honest I do have a factory engraved Winchester 1886 that has a current selling point that is so ridiculously high. That actually hunting with it is pretty much a bad idea!

    New 45/70 from Santa!

That is a good point! And a very valid perspective. In that respect the Marlin would be a better candidate.

    New 45/70 from Santa!

Thought some may have an interest in one of these Italian imports? After looking at the new Henry's and Ruger Marlins . I decided to try a Pedestoli 1886 imported by Taylor & Co in Winchester,Va. It is a PG Deluxe Extra lite model in 45/70. I wanted a blued classic gun. I am totally impressed...

Own any rifles you haven't shot?

I have a Winchester Model 70 /270W that is still unfired it's the 150th Year model. I am guessing that 1st shot would devalue it about a grand!!! E

Light bullets in the 6.5 Creedmoor

Have been using the new 90 gr Varmagetton in my 6.5 for the last two winters on BIG Northern Maine coyotes. Having very similar results to my 25/06 with 90gr Blitz Kings. So have close to 40 down with the 6.5 now and 99% were instant kills. All shot from 300/400 yds. One of the very finest...

    My Divorce From Nosler

Paul, This is gone into the ridiculous stage at this point...... Question how come I can ( and hundreds of other smiths) Can take a new barrel and chamber it , headspace it and have it easily DONE in a morning ???, test fire it in the afternoon; and ship it the same day ??????? (Assuming the...

    My Divorce From Nosler

Tikka........ Is the short answer. I wore a Nosler hat for about 20 years until I went into Anchorage to "load up" on Bullets in mid 1980's and found they had effectively doubled the price of most of their stuff by simply boxing there low end stuff from boxes of 100 to boxes of 50. I shot...

Esteemed Members, Please Relay Your Experiences with 7mm Mau

Had lots of clients show up with 7/57's over the years and it worked wonders on game up to 400lbs with various loads, it is about a 7mm/08 with a twist favoring heavier bullets. Both work super. I would prefer the 7/08 and shoot lighter bullets for deer. For game over 500lbs then with heavier...

Bass Pro just bought Sportsman's Warehouse

Just another form of censorship? Buy up all the competition and shut off the valve of supply? Sounds like ALOT like facebook........ or Germany In late 30's doesn't it.

Let's buy the perfect out west gun.

When the dust all settled nothing said here trump's JOC's .270 Win for a Western rifle, Magnum rifles are a weak excuse for poor shooting. There is no Elk in the west that can withstand a direct hit in the boiler room with the old tryed and true 160 NP. For over 300 yds the 150 ABLR will fold up...

    Officially Disappointed in Nosler

Paul, Has this ever been resolved? Sept/ Dec to change a barrel On a new rifle.......... With an obvious upset and anxious customer. If their gunsmith is sooooo overloaded why haven't they hired another one so they can keep up with their work load??? This gun should have been returned back to...
