    Re-sizing question-photo

Resizing some cases a while back, and decided to experiment. The attached photo shows a sharpie marked case that I ran into the sizing die, adjusting down in 1/4 turns until I got thr result you see. Looks to me Like this would be "Neck sized". You can see the sharpie removed on the neck and...

Quick load w/ CFE 223... for the 250 savage.

So... I found a pound of Hogdon CFE 223. Load data is avaialable for Speer hot cores in 100gr and 87gr varieties. Hornady also lists loads for the 75gr V-max's both of wich I have available. Loads look pretty speedy. What I dont have is anything for 100gr BT's any body able to run a quick load...

Again- you guys impress me. I am also amazed that at this late date- (early august) you can get food plots to grow. Course I am stuck in MN. Few weeks are all that is left of the growing season for most things. Wish my tomatoes would start ripening- looking good. CL

An experiment-Reading Primers - with a friends rifle

Thanks Guys- Little extra firing pin clearance in the bolt. Kinda what I figured. I get acceptable accuracy at 39.5 gr. so unless things change I will stay there. I have heard of shimming a firing pin, but I'm not sure its the best plan for a 100 year old rifle and my friends budget. If...

An experiment-Reading Primers - with a friends rifle

I have had my share of issues, including broken rifle parts recently, and while things are looking up, I was looking at the fired reloads from my friends model 99 in 250- 3000 Savage and I noticed what looked to me to be "cratering" of the fired primers. Given my recent experiences I decided to...

Saving my 250-Savage- is it worth it? Talk me out of it.

Thanks all- I've already gotten my moneys worth in piece of mind and enjoyment from those groups. Work has been nuts all month and the last couple weeks the wife and I have been sick. So not much opportunity to shoot.... Hopefully that will come. I did set up a ladder test based on this...

Saving my 250-Savage- is it worth it? Talk me out of it.

Oops posted to soon- next had to try my old tried and true- 75gr Hornady V-Max's over 40 grains of 4350 nice group like it ought to be.... Then back to 100Gr BT's over 38 gr of 4350. After going back to the smith and discussing all fired brass and targets w/ him I think i might back this load...

Saving my 250-Savage- is it worth it? Talk me out of it.

Well- Sentimentality won out and despite all you guys sound advice to the contrary, AND the fact that somebody should name a cartridge "cloverleaf" :) I left my 250 Savage with the Smith mentioned in my post above. He reportedly scoped the bore and action. He offered to have the action...

    Leupold Vari-X 2.5-8 adjustments

This is not info for a Leupold, but maybe it will help. These intructions came with a K-4 Weaver circa 1964 or so. These had friction adjustments with hash marks as I recall. Some body out there might have original directions for a Leupold. Again, these are for a weaver.
