I'd bet you that we'll see an ABLR or AB come out in a heavier weight in .257 fairly soon as well. Can't all just be match bullets filling up the heavies.
Even before we first interacted on this forum, it was always such a breath of fresh air seeing the 25-06 get some love from you on Ultimate Reloader. If you did a fast twist, you’d be a staple in the 25 revolution 😎
Randy,
I had a Mark II VT in 25-06 that, even without bedding, was easily a 1/4" gun with factory ammo. I'd not worry about the bad reports, as you're much more likely to post about a bad experience than a good one. There are countless MkIIs that have shot amazingly that you never hear about...
I have some once fired 30-06 brass that’s just sitting around doing nothing. Some necks have dings from hitting the ground.
34 pieces of RP
48 pieces of Winchester
82 pieces total
I’d like to sell it all together. 40 bucks shipped
That's still some great velocity with a 140 out of a 22" barrel. Good job, Howie.
When I got my stash of H100V, I couldn't find Staball anywhere. I suppose it'd work well in my case as well.
6.5 PRC factory loads are with LR primers, and most handload data you find will be using standard large rifle primers as well. I think you'll be okay.
I just looked at Nosler and Hornady's data and they used WLR and F210 respectively.
Still gets me giddy that I even own it 😁
Thanks! And no, it’s a 700. I replaced the shroud with a Lawton style one from PT&G
You and me both. I’m running out of venison and buying beef just ain’t the same. Thanks a bunch, Allen
For this season’s muley hunt, I decided to work up a load with the new 132gr HHT, courtesy of @AFG270’s kindness.
I chose:
- Hybrid 100V as the powder.
- Remington 9 1/2 LR primers.
- Peterson 280 AI brass, once fired.
I started working up from 55gr to 57gr in .5gr increments. Never hit...
