    Pretty decent Oregon white tail

That is a fine WT buck for sure! I have that Muzzle stuffer tag this year and haven't had much luck finding the time to get out. Passed on a few small ones, but nothing to get me excited yet. A good friend of mine got a nice one with his Hawkins, not that big, but a dang nice 140 class buck.

    She got her first bull

Thanks guys. I really enjoy taking her. I find that I enjoy taking other people as much as I enjoy hunting for myself. I'm sure she would be ok with that. But if you wanting a big elk, don't waste your time or money on Oregon. If you just want an elk, there are a few good units.

    6mm 55gr BT lead free

I guess I never really worried about the temp sensativity with that round. It was my winter yote round so all I ever used it in was late fall through mid spring then I switched over to the 105 A Max with H1000 for gongs. I don't think that they are hard to get to shoot. I shot Big Game with the...

    338 Ultra Mag

Yes it is. I only switched because I couldn't find any remington stuff.

    She got her first bull

Thanks guys. I have some meat thawing out on the counter right now for some jerky. This is the second elk she has taken at 680 yards with this rifle. She took a nice cow a year ago with it on the same ranch. I joke with her that the only time she listens to me is when she has a rifle in her hands.

    338 Ultra Mag

2995 with the Remington Brass. I shot it out after 6 firings. Switched to Nosler brass and it looks like I'm going to have to drop down a full grain to get the same speed and accuracy. Same charge in the nosler brass got me to 3040fps. Groups opened up and was getting ejector marks.

    Best scope for 1000-2000 dollars

I'm have been looking really hard at the Sightron SIII 6-24. It can be had for the bottom end of your price scale and the reviews comparing it to higher $ scopes seem to be favorable. I have not been able to put my hands on one yet, so at this point it's all based on lots of hours of readying...

    She got her first bull

After appplying for elk in Oregon for 10 years and not drawing a bull tag, my wife decided that she wanted to burn her points and try to get a bull. She has been shooting a 284 Winchester that I built for her for a couple of years now and has gotten quite good with it. We hunted the first...

    .280 AI is awesome!!

I'm happy for you buddy. Very glad it turned out as you had hoped. The 280 Ai is a very fine all around rifle. I have built several rifles since I built my 280 AI and I find myself taking it on several trips a year or loaning it out to very close firends. It does everything I ask of it. I'm sure...

    338 Ultra Mag

I shoot a differdent 250 gr bullet, but H1000 has been awesome. I have several 3 and 4 shot groups that are running a ragged hole.

    6mm 55gr BT lead free

I shot a pile of these out of my Savage 12 in 243. I had reallly good luck with them on yotes with H380. That powder worked great with these and the 55 Bt.

    140 VLD Hunting on deer.

I'm going to come right out of the gate and say that I have never been a big Berger guy for hunting ( I had also never tried them). BUT, I have a heavy and a light 6.5 SAUM that shoot them very well, and I wanted to try them on deer this year as my 142 ABLR load isn't developed fully yet...

    Alaska, would you risk?

Guy, I would have a hard time taking that beauty up there. Most of my guns I don't mind a few battle scares, but if I had one that nice I would be having second thoughts about it. Good luck either way!

What's the straight dope on Accubond Long Range performance?

I have taken several critters with the ABLR. I took a realy nice Idaho buck at 475 with a 150 ABLR out of my 280 AI doing 3100, dropped him. Pretty impressed. Took another Idaho buck @ 80 yards with the same load the next year. Shot both front shoulders, he stood up on his hind legs and fell...

420 bull killed in Bills Mt. Emily unit.

And that is why I'm continue to wait for my chance at that tag. Fingers crossed it will only be a few more years. I'm super happy for Delwyn! I know his family spends A LOT of time up there looking for these bulls. That is a once in a lifetime bull for sure!

Fixing a Rifle Issue Quick - Imput needed

I'm running the 140 AB in my M70 270 Weatherby. They shoot pretty good and I'm getting 3285 with them. If the rifle wasn't so pretty I would use it a lot more!

    Sand Bag Rest

That is the same bag that I use. I run a rear bag as well for some added stability. They work great. My only complaint is that I only get about a year or two out of them. My concrete bench is a bit rough and slowly wears through them. It is more of a bench issue than a bag issue thought. Other...

    Pac-Nor order specs

Pac Nor built the barrel on my 280 AI. It is a fluted #4 finished at 24". I went with a 3 groove 9 twist. I sent them a dummy round, they sent me a barrel. I screwed it onto a Savage and bedded it into a McMillian stock. It is the most consistent rifle I own. I have four or five other rifles...
