I’ve gone from slow to mild and wild , they just stick. New the first 5 rounds with factory Federals hung in there. I’ve settled on HS-6 and H110 for now , I do have a little Blue Dot left might give it a try some time.
My understanding is the HBN coated bullets allow the first cold bore shot to be grouped with the following shots. It does make it easier to clean the bore. Whether it does save the life of the throat is debatable.
I’m on the fence on trying it on 378 when I get it up and running.
Wether it’s a light cast load or a full load of H110 and 240s they all stick. I’ve learned to deal with it but I’m looking to see if I can improve it somewhat.
Picture doesn’t show the grooves very well.
I did try them in my 14” barrel 25 Creed just a little slower than what you’re getting , accuracy not to my liking. I do have some loaded up in the 257 Wby to try out.
The cylinder on my Tracker is anything but perfect. Nocking the empties out is a PITA. I’m looking at using a Flex Hone for firearms for honing.
Has anyone here a had success in honing a ruff cylinder with decent outcome?
I’ve dabbled with HBN on several bullets with mixed results. With my 340 Wby the 225gr TTSX works well being coated. However Nosler’s 300gr CC are horrible , galls up seating them. I’ve tried them in several brand of cases and no go , would be easier to drive a nail into a knot in an oak board...
