Another reason I prefer to use heavier, rather than lighter, cartridges:
I hunt LR whitetails in NC every year. The deer that appear across expansive soybean fields are almost always just a few yards from the wood line. I normally catch them coming out in the last 10-15 minutes of legal...
I spend a fair amount of money on my guided hunts. It has always been my feeling that it is better to be slightly over-gunned than under-gunned. I have been presented with game at longer distances than expected and marginal shot angles. Sometimes it was the only shot opportunity I had near the...
I shot all of my Canadian moose with a 338 RUM. When I finally got a Maine non-res moose tag I took my trusty 45-70. The 402gr Hammer bullet got it done. Go BIG or go home. LOL
I don't know how many times I've read where someone had a stuck case. It seems like 99% of the time, Hornady One Shot was the case lube being used at the time.
On more than one occasion, my buddy got one of his Weatherby cases stuck in a Redding die. He normally sent the die back to Redding...
In the Berry link ^^^^^^ it says that the plated 240gr is good up to 1,850fps. They certainly should know. I shoot plenty of the 165gr in a 40 S&W and have never had an issue. They also make a fine bullet for the 45-70. Great for plinking all day long.
How about health insurance for your dog? I've got a Golden Retriever. His name is Cody. I bought a policy shortly after getting him. Cody was 8 weeks old at the time. The policy has a $500 annual deductible and a maximum return of $5,000. It did not cover any wellness care, only accident or...
I've been thinking like diverdown ^^^ lately. The chance of losing my home entirely is extremely remote. The $3,000/yr to cover the property doesn't even include flood insurance. I could easily save the $3,000 and just take my chances. If the house burned down, I'd have to rebuild it at my...
I'd work on seating depth changes in increments of .015" to see if groups shrink.
BTW - I think you're the first poster that I've ever seen list his group size down to the 1/1,000 of an inch. :D
Justin Trudeau is extraordinarily unpopular. I think his approval rating is about where Biden's is, 30%. With inflation being high and the economy in bad shape, there isn't room for decline. Trudeau may very well be afraid of Trump's threat to impose tariffs on Canadian goods. Trudeau said that...
When I bought my first 375 Ruger rifle I was concerned that the cartridge might not catch on and that brass could be impossible to find. So ....... being a cautious guy, I bought enough brass to last the life of the barrel.
I'm told that you can still buy 375 Ruger brass on GB but you've really...
Scheels is probably the lowest price around and they ship for free.
