Best Brass Prep Station

That is the least favourite job for 'bout everyone! Anything to move it along is a positive.
Agreed. I have the FA unit and it works good. I do everything possible to not trim brass more than once in its lifecycle.

I have an RCBS one, I like it . it gets used every loading session . I keep a VLD inner chamfer , an outer chamfer , primer pocket brush , a bronze brush for cleaning inside the neck . I will put the inside the case primer flash hole debur tool on when prepping new brass with a burr . it's old , and it's been used hard . I'll guess the past year it's developed a clunk , but still seems to be working ok . it's always been a noisy tool . when this quits working I'll buy another prep station , they are well worth the cost . it's a time saver . I pick up a piece of brass , and I do all four , or five stations , then I grab another piece of brass .

this is the one I have . it's a 5 station , I use 4 stations all the time . I use the fifth station when I need to debur the flash hole . I have a separate case trimmer .

I have one and it did similar towhat yours did along with a grinding noise. I opened it up and applied some wheel bearing grease to the gears and that quieted it down quite a bit. Still runs good and it's better than 20 years old.

Yes...that's the one i have
Mine is a rickety old thing. Makes some funny noises but has made those noises for years. I grease it every couple months.
It just keeps on keeping on.

That's discontinued from RCBS and replaced with this

So you're tossing after 4 total firings?

In most instances I can only get two firings before I'm at the wall or slightly over and need to trim.
Yet there's plenty of life remaining in those cases. (Most calibers)

Personally, I trim every time I load. With one of these devices, it's real easy and doesn't take long at all. After I resize, I just run it thru the stations on the prep center. Keeps everything uniform that way.

I was wondering the same thing, Scotty. How do you get away only trimming once in the brasses life cycle?

I am thinking about getting a brass prep station, specifically the Frankford Arsenal Reloading Tools Platinum Series Case Prep and Trim System 903156.
Anyone have one? I'm open to suggestions.
Thanks fellas.

JD. I have one that I don't use and selling it locally. If you might be interested in a very lightly used one (probably 50 - 223 cases trimmed), shoot me a PM
