When I rebarreled by 7WSM I should have chambered it in 7-300WSM or 7-270WSM just to avoid the brass issue. However, I have a set of expensive 7WSM dies sitting on the shelf and a load of 7WSM Win brass that I grossly overpaid to get, so I just did another 7WSM at the time.
Now if I can only...
The 7WSM was one of my all-time favorite cartridges and it has taken more than its fair share of game. After I burned out the second match barrel, I finally abandoned the cartridge in-lieu-of a 7PRC. The ONLY reason that I made the switch was because high quality brass never became available for...
The 7-6.5PRC-AW is designed for a specific match discipline and will likely have a rather small following ,IMO. Hunters typically like more velocity to accompany the accuracy that they all look for. The 7PRC is a rather balanced cartridge but it won't do much in the field that a 7 Rem mag or...
Isn't it odd that no one has started a reparation committee to compensate all the families of soldiers who gave their lives in the battle to free the slaves?
I shot 175 LRAB and 175 Bergers at 3,000fps from a 25" Broughton 7WSM bbl using RE26. The Win brass held up just fine. The 160 class bullets could be shot very close to 3,200fps without issue in my rifle.
This puts the 7WSM at the same ballistic performance as the 7PRC but that doesn't make it...
In addition, Hochul has just commissioned a "Reparations Task Force", of some sort, to examine the issue of reparations for NY. The California commission made 115 recommendations (IIRC) including paying out millions to every "eligible" person, free income for life, free housing and on & on...
Hochul wants to ban "fishing contests"? She's tripping over herself to make new anti-everything laws virtually every day. This state is worse than California in many ways. Actually, much of the pending anti-everything legislation in California is already law here. It will take years for the US...
I tested the Berrys with 6 different powders in my 18.5" Marlin 1895 SBL. My goal was to get an accurate load that came in at about 1,600fps. The stand-out winner in my test was IMR4198. Normally I would use H4198 but I grabbed a couple of cans of IMR4198 when the Hodgdon couldn't be found...
I bought 500 350gr Berry bullets myself. The price was good and shipping was free. That should keep me shooting the ol' 45-70 for quite a while. However, I did notice that they shot to a COMPLETLY different POI than my previous hunting load. They are fine bullets for slapping steel whenever you...
Congrats on taking a beautiful buck.
I've used Accubonds with good success over the years but you BT guys have me thinking about stepping back from bonded bullets. Nosler needs a heavy .284 BT for all the new 7PRC rifles out there, mine included. LOL
Nice photo Guy. I had Great Blue Heron nesting right behind my property every year. It was always great to watch them swoop in so close. Sadly, they totally disappeared a couple of years ago. I haven't seen one since.
Wow - that's way more hands than I would have guessed. LOL
My Encore pistol in 444 is about all the abuse I can handle. Although, I did own a 460Wby for a few years. It rained hell down on fat PA groundhogs. I sold it before my retinas detached. :ROFLMAO:
The bushing should be loose/floating when you lockdown the adjustments. Can you hear the bushing move freely when you shake the die?
FWIW - the etched numbers on the bushing should always face down.
Quite a few guys have gone the Evergreen route. Even though it's a tad bulkier than needed, it's wayyyyyyyyy smaller than the Apache case for my LabRadar. LOL
