Congratulations on a great addition to your collection!!!
Please share your load for .30 Nosler when you develop one - I'd be interested to see what you come up with.
I should have added some other sites I was looking at when I was shopping around; you already have Montana Canvas ....
https://www.walltentshop.com/ In Moscow Idaho
And
https://www.bravotents.com/ In Camas WA
Hummm, seems that the computer ate my first attempt to reply ....
We have spent a lot of time under wall tents at elk camp & the only headache we've had was having to remove the stove pipe due to the high winds & putting up with the bellowing of the sides in the winds...open floor. (usually...
Yes, my old hard copy manuals have come in handy many times for others who were looking for caliber/powder combinations that are not in the newer manuals.
I have not had good luck in my experience reloading with Nosler Partitions; in almost every case I have had the front core separate from the jacket inside the game. After that poor performance I switched to ballistic tips which were devastating on game.
Recently, in the past 2-3 years I've been...
A while back I had a member ask if I had measured the frontal expansion & I had not. It took me a while to find them as I had "cleaned up" after last years hunt & now getting ready for this years hunt I found them.
I measured the expansion of the .30 Nosler 180gr AccuBond and they measured...
I have the 5x25x56 ATACR and have found no reason not to love this scope!
Out of your choices this is the one I would defer to ... given the prices of these scopes it's not something you buy everyday & is rather an investment you will use for decades. Given that, why not go for the 5x25x56...
I agree that you should spread the news and avoid that place for good. I did the same with Dick's Sporting goods when they pulled their gun stunt ... I've never been back to their place nor spent one red cent with them since.
Waiting for them to go bankrupt then it's time to grill a nice burger...
Thank you!
At first I was waking up at 0330 to get some shots, then I realized that I could see it starting at about 2200-2215 just to the right of the big dipper.
Use the two bottom stars in the "bucket" of the big dipper to point the way to the right towards the comet. It was easier for my...
Oops ... Looks like I left out some info ... The Rem 700 build is 30-06 and the Nosler Model 48 is in .30 Nosler.
I took my very first elk with a .50 cal muzzle loader I built from a kit decades ago. Never intended to take Elk with it, just wanted to build one for fun. After a few seasons I...
My very favorite was my Remington 700 with a Shilen Match barrel, McMillan A2 Stock topped with a Leupold 6.5-20x40. Shooting hand loads with 180gr Combined Technology Ballistic Silvertips. At 18.5 lbs I finally decided to go with something lighter.
My newest elk gun is my Nosler Model 48...
Nice shooting on the pig!
I posted these AccuBonds in another post that I recovered from a nice bull elk ...
.30 Nosler, 180gr AccuBond at 3196fps at the muzzle, 676 yards (Estimated 2000fps at this range)
Bummer that they are all partitions ... was hoping for some of their other lines ...
Thanks and I do appreciate the heads up though & always looking for a bargain!
Washington State has an liberal, ineffective, & worthless governor not to mention the mayor of Seattle who is allowing this "takeover" to happen.
I could say a lot more, but none of it would be good.
Summary: Use the brake, noticeable reduction in felt recoil
I have never used a muzzle brake until one came with my .30 Nosler. First thing I did was take it off & went to the range ... well, this exposed the great difference between my 18 1/2 lb .30-06 and my 7 lb .30 Nosler ... almost got...
For those of you in Washington State, what do you guys think of the new HB 2555 that takes affect on June 11th.
Uppers can no longer be shipped to your door & will have to go through an FFL. So ... if you've been waiting to pull the trigger on an upper, now's the time as you only have 2 weeks...
