The tariffs will have an impact us all. Wages are not going to keep up with the price increases and it is going to negatively impact our brick and mortar businesses. I read that hotels, the food industries, and agriculture are already being impact severely from higher costs. We all only have so...
In my younger days I hunted with a 35 Remington with 200 grain RN Remington Core-Lokt and a 30-06 with 180 grain RN Remington Core-Lokt. They proved to be very accurate loads in both rifles. Most of game (WT, fox, and coyote) were taken in the 75-125 yard range, but I did take a WT that was a...
I've bought seconds from Midway in the past and am not a fan. They are not the quality that you get from Nosler. I have the following Midway factory seconds available if someone wants to make me an offer:
2 boxes of 100, 25 caliber 117 grain SP
2 boxes of 50, 338 caliber 215 grain SP
2 boxes of...
I have a dirt berm behind my 50 yard target and beyond that is the neighbors woods. The berm is dirt, with no rock and is about 5&1/2' high. I have stakes also set at 25 and 15 yards for shooting my pistols and .22. Because the range is only 50 yards range I avoid any type of steel targets to...
I would sight it in at what ever range your shotgun patterns that particular load best. I've seen shotguns that wouldn't send a killing pattern beyond 25 yards and some that are still good 45 yards.
I've not owned or used a Sightron, but I have to friends that have used them for years on AR platforms for coyote hunting. If they weren't reliable, they would not have keep them.
I have a Taurus PT1911 that shoots well and has never failed to feed or eject. Yours looks like it is going to be a good shooter and I hope it proves to be as reliable as the one I have.
I'm with Bruce on my shooting ranges, and keep most of my shoots hunting under 350 yards. When it comes to scopes I am not brand loyal. I have a mix of Leupold, Vortex, Zeiss, and Bushnell, but they are all variables (2.5-8, 2-10, 4-12, etc) and are equipped with some form of duplex reticle. The...
The changes that we experience with eye sight as we age isn't always for the better. I know I can't pick out objects as fast as I use to. If the red dot works for, GREAT!
If only you could find Alliant powder these days. My stock of Reloader 7, 15, 17, 22, and 26 are either getting very low or are out. For now, I'm not doing any new load development with Alliant, to try to support loads that have already been worked up.
When it comes to handloading the fun starts with the research, selecting and matching powders and bullets to the rifle. This forum, other forums, published load data, and the many articles that are written all help, after you extract what I consider to be BS. I have found that there is no sense...
