    A Return to the 30-06

The tech you spoke to at Sierra be wrong. Or else you're remembering it wrong one or the other. They are not interchangeable. 2 different burn rates as any reloading book clearly shows by the difference in both charge weights and pressure. One of the few powders where IMR is slower burning...

    250 savage questions ?

What a sweetheart cartridge that is highly efficient. That info Scotty posted is pretty impressive. 2950 in a 22" barrel with a 100 gr bullet and only 37.5 gr's of powder while still at a mild for modern rifle pressure of under 54,000 psi. I don't shoot or use mine near as much as I should...

Mini groups within 5 shot group

Sure. If you have the rings apart why wouldn't you check the base screws, that's just common maintenance even with no issues. There can always be a first for anything but something loose on a rifle has never resulted in consistent results for me under recoil. He is basically cutting bullet...

Mini groups within 5 shot group

Loose screws will not produce your results. You can check them, but highly unlikely that is your problem. Loose screws cannot produce consistent results bouncing back and forth between 2 points like you're getting. It will result in groups with no control, not back and forth between precise...

    Brass weight variance.

These were all kept separate and marked as to what they are, I wouldn't want to intermingle them and expect the same POI. Accuracy is fine, but I told the guy to shoot them separate from the Winchester brass I had already had loaded for him from before, as POI may and will likely be some...

    Ramshot Big Game?

I have 2 lbs of it sitting here on standby. I haven't found it to be standout in what I've tried so far, but that doesn't mean I dislike it. It certainly has its uses and is cheap enough. I wouldn't trade IMR 4350 for it, or H4895, but if push came to shove I'd get along just fine with it.

    Brass weight variance.

Man, you are way more detailed than I am. (y) Not a bad thing. My practice on fired rounds is to keep the ones separate that I've killed deer with and put them on a shelf marked "doe" "doe" "buck" etc.

    'Merica'

They gonna be busy and it will be a long line. 59 million views now in 4 weeks. A lot of people speaking out. A couple of artists that did good remixes of the song. Not artists I was aware of or follow, but they popped up with the remixes, and they are not wrong. Warning about language on...

    Brass weight variance.

I don't weigh brass out, but I would've thought 5-6 grains would be culling status if one were doing so. 13 grains is borderline extreme in my view on a 7mm-08 case which is relatively small. Yet as long as it isn't overpressure which it isn't, that estimated 35 fps difference is minimal...

    Brass weight variance.

So recently I loaded up 4 boxes of 7mm-08 for a buddy with a load that's been tested extensively to be good across several of their rifles. After doing so I decided to check the brass weight on fired cases since he recently bought a batch of PPU brass. I was shocked that the PPU weighed 13...

    'Merica'

Dang right. 4.8 Million views in 3 days from an artist nobody ever heard of before now. Shot up to #1 on itunes. They think we are asleep. We are wide awake and stirred up. 1 comment states this is not a song but an anthem. I agree. An anthem for all those who voted against what we knew was...

    Not a bad reduced load.

:ROFLMAO: That it would be. My wife got a bunch of rolls of those price stickers a few years back at a yard sale or somewhere for a couple bucks. Got a couple more rolls then I'm gonna have to come up with new target stickers.

    Not a bad reduced load.

I should add, this is in a 16 twist. If anybody is trying it with a 12 or even a 14 twist, it's possible the speed would need to be lowered for accuracy. Just surmising, don't know that as fact, but it is an awfully short bullet. A 12 twist would be trying to spin its guts out.

    Not a bad reduced load.

My rifle is 22" and has a throat and bore that isn't doing it any favors for either speed or accuracy so that charge weight might not match up to your rifle. If your rifle is 22" you might end up being a grain or so less, don't know. I'd get it to 2475 in a 22" or right handy 2525 in a 24" and...

    Not a bad reduced load.

Done some testing with the fast IMR 4198 powder in my 35 Whelen and the Speer 180. Seated to the cannelure gave me an OAL of 3.070. 43 gr's was the winner on accuracy at slightly under 3/4". Might be a dandy reduced load. Both report and recoil is mild. Very mild for a Whelen. Upper...

    Anybody use these

I have nothing currently that I'd use small rifle for, so I could keep them safe while you sort out who they're going to. See, I'm both helpful and wise.

    What would you do?

Oh I don't know. I certainly wouldn't want to discourage anything that eliminates variables. If you have a system that keeps your confidence up and your system yields consistency, I don't know that I would change it. I was just speaking for myself, don't listen to me! :D
