Haha. I have a nephew that when working at a project of any sort is fond of looking something over and saying "that's close enough for family" :D He's actually quite handy at a lot of things and is a lot fussier than he lets on.
I thought I had a picture saved of them but I don't, but a couple yrs ago I was pulling some OLD reloads I got along with a gun..........was pulling them for the bullets and I saved the primers. I have an inertia bullet puller and I suppose it was a combination of the bullets being galded or...
Yep. They got me on a bag of 22-250 in the new red/black bag. Not again. Once it's fully prepped it's as good as anything else, but man what a bunch of work to get it ready. Be hard to think that all of it is that bad, but maybe it is??
Scheels has Winchester 30-30 brass. .80 a piece so still not cheap in my mind.

Great rifle! Pre-64 M70 in a 30-06. Be hard to search out anything more reliable and more classic. Hope it shoots well for you. Looks very nice from what I can see. A wise and satisfying transaction I would think, congrats!
I was going to say last evening that according to their home page the items they show on their website are listings of what they carry and doesn't mean they are in stock, you have to call or email to check on availability. I doubt they have RL-26 in stock for $40, but they might?
I think you'll be okay with a 2 yr supply. Between now and then they should be available. I think surely?? But who knows......with our current batch of leadership on all things it seems they can't make anything go right.
If I don't get to shooting more than I have been I'll be good until I'm...
I've always swapped data back and forth with identical weights in C&C bullets. If it's a powder and cartridge combination I don't have a lot of experience with, I start at starting charges and work up watching for pressure like Jim stated. Long bullets or big differences in metal makeup such...
Cheapest primers I got bar none I bought January of 2022 from a guy not 3 miles from my house. 4 bricks of the older Blue/Silver/Yellow CCI 200's that were made sometime in the 90's. He named the price.........$50 for all 4 bricks. $12.50 per brick. He shoots pistol constantly so he was well...
Not great, but down from where I've seen them, and available.........8 lb jugs of either Varget or H4831SC, $316. One lb cans of H4831SC, H4350, & H1000 are $46. Not great but not $56, and they're there. To me it's good to see the wide variety sitting there in stock and at at least somewhat...
There was a time that $129 for CCI 400 was not that uncommon on most sites if you could find them available, and you could buy one. Not 5 a day for $89.99. That's all I'm saying.........things are changing. Slowly, but changing. Might be a flash in the pan for reasons I wouldn't know about...
Yep primers is still the big deal, although even those you're seeing off the highs and more available. Example, Natchez is showing CCI SR for $89.99 not the prices a good bit higher than that previously, and you can order 5 per day. LR & LR magnum continue to be scarce. I'm not sugar coating...
Woo Hoo! Finally things are showing real signs of catching up, at least on the powder front.
Shop here has things such as 8 lbs of staball 6.5 for $259. 8lbs of CFE 223 for $241. 8lbs of H335 for $238. 8lbs of BLC-2 for $238. 8lbs of Hybrid 100V which I haven't seen in forever for $236...
Man what a brute. Good gracious. 5" bases according to the write up. Didn't see it initially because I was just looking at the mass and the length of the points on that left side, but it even has a big ole boat paddle of a drop tine hanging off the back of that left side.
I don't go around looking for things not to follow, but some things I'm not starting down that road. I'd put this in the same category as their stupid mask requirements which I did not follow, or what they tried with shot requirements which I did not follow.
If it ever comes to my state it will not change what I use for hunting. Just that. Take from that what you will. What's next? I can't drink my own well water because it's not up to the standards that they think I should be drinking for my own personal consumption? It's an answer to a problem...
And it's not a 6.5 CM! I've worked on a couple of those for 2 different people and it is a very good round and I'm not knocking anybody that owns one, but the thought of me buying a CM makes my teeth clench and my head shake in protest......kinda like the thought of drinking curdled milk. Just...
With some bullets yes they will be different overall lengths. I measure the length of the bullet I'm going to use to measure at what length it is against the lands in that chamber. I then use that same bullet, or 1 that measures the exact same length when setting up my seating die. If I want...
