Looks good Guy. When I bought my Ronin, it wasn't available for the plate and red dot, so I had an adapter put in the rear sight dovetail and mounted one. Not as close to the slide as yours but works. Springfield did well on their upgrade. Good shooting also.

I agree with the others that having the rifle in hand is what works the best. Powders mentioned are good so is IMR4831. Has worked well in 4-5 270s I've personally loaded for. Being your father's friend is that far away, and it was mentioned try some factory loads, how about finding someone...

What I can find out this would seem to offer a good bolt action rifle in 35 Whelen at a reasonable price not having to go the donor route-reboring, re-barreling or high prices for Remington models. Time will tell.

The 100gr PT in the last 243 I had was the best deer bullet I found that grouped and performed hands down.

I haven't seen IMR 4350 on the shelf for a while as H4350 is here or there.
