I hate working up loads and never struggled more than when trying to find a load for my 25-06.
I’ve usually been able to find a load on the first outing with good hunting accuracy using a common recommended powder. I select my bullet, powder, and load a bunch of three shot string with various...
I do know why and when it was created.
It was created under one of the most unconstitutional presidents this nation has ever had and a real Machiavellian piece of fecal matter that extended the Great Depression by his policies. The democrats held the majority at the time and created the...
Try a varmint bullet.
I had a 25-06 that I couldn’t find a load for until I went with an 87 grain bullet. You might want to see if your rifle shows such a preference. Do a full load work up using a varmint bullet. Also use IMR 4350 or H4350.
You seem to be having an experience similar to mine...
I don’t have time to deep dive this but I will say that with limited exceptions, ports of entry and military bases, the land belongs to the respective states not the federal government. If one wants to follow strict interpretation of the Constitution.
Indian reservations granted prior to...
When they expanded and stopped hiring locals and instead hire some college kid from Boston, who has no idea about gate etiquette, the agency started to go downhill.

All gun laws are unconstitutional.
I should be able to own fully automatic weapons, suppressors, and any other implement of war I desire if I have the coinage.

The federal government does not have Constitutional authority to “manage” land once that land is within the borders of a state. They can only manage territories.

I like my Beretta 96 in that area.
But it’s a little heavier. Heck I like my Beretta 96 just about everywhere. Also have a S&W 4016 that I like to wear if I need a little deeper concealment.
I used to be a big fan of the 1911 but have since gravitated to the DA/SA platform for daily carry.

The Tree O’ Ate has been proven sufficient over time and acquitted itself well.
With that said I’m a fan of bigger bores and prefer the .338 diameter or if going smaller the plethora of 6.5 cartridges. I wouldn’t sneeze at the .308 Win it’s just a little too pedestrian for my taste.

I’m taking my Winchester Model 70, LH, CRF, .338 Win Mag in a McMillan stock that Pat Holehan was kind enough to work on for me when David Miller, since passed away may he rest in peace, didn’t have time.

I have no issue with this as I don’t believe that the federal government has the constitutional authority to own land except in very limited circumstances.
As most of you know, old timers here, I believe that federal land should belong to the representative states. Federal land is to be...
Here’s what I sent my boss, the scheduler, and HR.
I’m not negotiating anything.

I will be out of the country and unable to work effective 11/18/25 and able to return to work on 12/06/2025.
My tickets are already purchased and unable to be changed as I will be in South Africa for...
6.5 Creedmoor, .338 WM, and .416 Taylor.
That’s my 3 Gun Battery. As for the .375 there’s too much overlap between it, the .338 and .416 that it’s not really needed. Plus I’m at the point I’m thinking about calling BATFE on the gunsmith that has the rifle. He’s had it over a year, well beyond...
Re-barrel that sucker into a .338 Win Mag, get a .416 Taylor, and come hunt Africa with me.
I wasn’t planning on another rifle but I finally pulled my thumb out of my keister and sent money for a .416 Taylor I should have bought two years ago. Got to thinking about it and it just makes more...
