I’ve seen people catching fish with a flatfish on a slider but I never had any luck with one. Might have to give it a try again.

Finally able to get to the beach after Summer steelhead. The beach is two miles from home so no real excuse for not going more often. In order to access the beach we have to enter through the paper mill where I used to work. Only present and former employees are allowed to enter so not unusual...

FWIW I had a bunch of Ballistic Tip bullets years ago that for some reason a lot of the tips were broken. I didn’t notice any difference in how they grouped (hovering around 1” at 100 yards) but not sure how it would affect performance upon contact.

I wasn’t expecting to see so many pelicans but was happy to see the little geese. Was reading the pelicans get a lump on their beaks during breeding season and then it falls off.

A long ways away on a windy day so things are a bit shaky.

This one is more about the audio. I captured a few images of the bobcats on the ridge camera. The one in the last pic went off camera before the video recording started and began making a lot of noise. I’d never heard one before.

Portable winches come in handy out in the field to help move downed animals but I actually use mine quite a bit in the woodlot on the homestead.

I once saw a little bull with long spikes getting milk from its mother. She tolerated it for just a while but it looked kind of iffy with those pointed antlers poking around under there. Got one coyote up here with a black upper body. Looks real good right now.

Found a new place close to home to watch the birds. Video is a bit long but some footage included of a seagull feeding on what I believe to be a blue wi get teal.

Stopped at the local bird sanctuary but there wasn’t a lot going on. Was shooting some video via a camera attached to a spotting scope on a windy day. Resulting video was shaky but when editing the footage I was able to export some still captures from the video that don’t turn out too bad.

I’ve got one that is getting quite tame. He always lands on the lower branch, pecks on the branch he’s sitting on for a bit (nervous energy?) then swoops down to get the first peanut as soon as I pour them out. They all come flocking in when I whistle for them.

That’s a pretty bird.
