Opened a bottle of titegroup today to try some subsonic loads in 308 as a replacement for TrailBoss. Took 12 rounds out to the range and it shot well at 50 yards.
Came back in to load some more and found the powder stuck to the sides of the clear plastic hopper on my RCBS measure. Even dawn...
Ladder tests of loads don't produce that large a spread. Other than scope problems, the only time I have seen groups like that was from unstable bullets tumbling due to a slow twist and low velocity. The bullets whet thru the paper sideways.
Just for curiosity you could pull some of the loads...
Found where to hold the reticle in relation to the scope set for deer load. (lower left shots) It ends up to be holding the lower thick part of the duplex reticle on the bull.
Then shot three, 3 shot groups at 50 yards. They all hit in the same spot about the size of a grouse's head. Very...

Could be, the other rifle I was using shot normal speeds, but those were subsonic loads, so maybe less noticeable.
I'll just keep an eye on it.
Haven't a borescope. Money is an issue these days. Are there worthwhile inexpensive versions?
It has always shot best clean when I get all the noticeable copper out of the bore. Roughly I clean it every other trip to the range and usually shoot less than 20 rounds a trip. This last group looked...
For similar issues when you need to sew thick leather, make holes first with a small drill bit (dremel or cordless). You can mark the hole spacing with the tines of a fork.
The local cemetery was packed with visitors. Lots of people in uniform, some were handing out water and flags. All the veterans graves had flags. We heard the 21 gun salute from town.
Small towns seem to have given a lot.
After getting some very fast loads compared to book velocities, I cleaned my rifle very deeply including iosso with brushes and then wipeout overnight.
Velocity dropped 200 fps with the next rounds.
After some searches I find some shooters saying the Reloder 16 I was using lays down carbon...
The stick on reading lenses can be trimmed and put anywhere on your shooting glasses. I have one on the upper left quadrant of one pair i use for open sights. The ones i use can be easily removed and relocated with some water...
If you are getting very good accuracy with the Sierra, I 'd stick with that for deer. My dad and grandad took a lot of elk with the 180 grain Game King and deer and antelope with the 25cal Game King.
Another 30-30 bullet is the Hornady 170 grain flat point. Hornady told me they expand at 300...
Only because he keeps breaking things that I and others use. Also checkout the potential medicare cuts in the OBBB.
