Excuse me if this has already been answered, but just wondering if anyone uses plugs or electronic muffs when hunting? Last few years I was using smaller cartridges (25/06 and 30/06) and never used any. But this year I have a 300 Win (no brake) and am thinking maybe I should. Opinions?

Yes, tried some in 270 Win and 300 Win and wasn’t impressed. Liking Hornady brass more these days.

Tried 55gr BT over 24grs Benchmark And same bullet over 24grs H335 Rifle has a 1-9” twist.

Got out to the range and ran this load over the chrono. It shot better previously as seen on earlier target but I think it was me on the second target. Load is 180gr Horn BTSP over 73grs RL22. Average velocity was 3008fps

Recently picked up a Weatherby Vanguard S2 and looking for powder suggestions. Going to be used primarily for coyotes. Thinking 55gr? Thanks!

Ran the 200gr SGK with 77.5grs H1000 over the chrono. Pretty respectable.

I tried some with my .270Win and wasn't overly impressed. Using Hornady with my .300WM and quite impressed. Much more uniform primer pockets.

Took my new to me Steyr Pro Hunter in 300WM out for some initial load testing and very impressed. 180gr BT 79grs H1000 200gr SGK 77.5grs H1000 I think I will stop right there [emoji3]

I have the exact same one. And I use the FART :lol:

I use the Lee Collet dies exclusively and they work great. I do the same as jimbires and also use a Rockchucker.

Thanks for the advice guys. I am a big fan of the BT and might try the 165 and 180 and see which shoots better in my rifle.
