Great stuff.. cherish these moments and keep those close to your heart, they will be gone in a flash.. My oldest daughter will be 31 this December, and I have many fond memories with her in the field, and she has killed numerous Muley bucks and one fat doe on a drought management hunt. I have...
Thanks for the QL and advice. I have a 8lb'r of Norma MRP and it really shines with the heavier bullets. Looks like the Accubonds are out of stock again, but I will be at Cabelas in Lehi on Tuesday and they show that they have the BT's in stock. Berger says 1 in 10 twist on the VLD box, but I...
I think I am giving up on the 115 gr Bergers in my wife's Ruger #1, just don't think they are stabilizing.. Getting down to crunch time as we are going to Colorado next month for a Muley hunt. If someone could run me a QL for 257 Rob, 115 gr Nosler BT, and 110 Gr Accubond, Norma MRP powder, 26"...
I would think that RL16 would be a good powder, but maybe the .308 doesn't have quite enough case capacity to get the full benefits.. Probably why it is not on the list.. It works really well in my 91 Mauser, 7.65x53. Good speed and mild recoil and pressure. These 2 cartridges are pretty...
Thanks Dewey and everyone else.
I also have about a half a pound H 335, which looks pretty good also.
I will take your advice on the length and crimp. My Marlin has always shot extremely well. It is usually the most accurate out of all my rifles.. not bad for a lever gun.
Thanks again (y)

Norma MRP.. If you can find it. I found a 8lb'r on clearance at our local Sportsmans Warehouse. I used it for some 150gr Speer Grand Slams, velocity was in the mid 2900's and not even at max.. very close though. If I wanted to push it I could have got 3000. Working on some 145gr ELDX's right...
As stated in the title, I have H4198, and a little H322. Marlin 444ss 22in bbl. Maybe a run with both of these and a burn chart to see what other powders might perform well..
Thank you to those who share their time to do these for us that ask.. :?:

TD,
The little tabs in my skyscreens for my shooting chrony broke recently, got brittle with age. My wonderful wife Kelli just whipped out the clear Gorrila tape and, Viola, these babies are better than new. I would be lost without her, believe me.
Looks like the 338 is ready for...
I definitely resemble the OCD comment. I seem to have ES of 80 to some times 100 FPS in my loads. I have started looking at all my reloading processes and trying to be consistent. I weigh every charge now, I make sure all my brass are trimmed the same, I measure every bullet depth with a...
Getting ready to start a load workup for my 270 Win with the Hornady 145 Gr ELD-X.
I have a brand new box of Norma Brass and I thought that I might weigh it to see how consistent it is. Here is what I came up with. These brass have all been primed with CCI 200 primers. All weights in grains...
I am sure your grandson has figured out that its addictive. Good job with teaching them. That's a sharp piece of Nikon optics on the rifle too.

Jim,
Thanks for the link. Interesting reading for sure..

Last evening I did a little testing between my 2 scales. The Frankford Arsenal DS750 has a few quirks, but I think it is accurate as a digital scale can be, and I found some things that I can do while using it that seemed to keep it spot on. I setup my Lee Powder measure so I could throw close...
The only check weight that I have is the 50g calibration weight that came with the digital scale. I have used a variety of bullets (using the same ones over and over ) to check consistency. I have read a lot of reviews on all kinds and the RCBS Chargemaster has the best by far. Sometimes its...
Just wondering what the consensus is on consistency and accuracy in the scale department. Do you prefer beam scale? What model and why? Or do you prefer digital? Auto charging or manual? What model and why?
After being frustrated with the 2 that I have (1 Lee safety beam scale, and a Frankford...
