Also...with the safety in the middle position, the lift is nice and easy with no resistance.

Smartphone pictures aren't the best.
Whenever I clean my rifles, I always try to clean out that area the best I can. It's kind of a pain to get anything in there, but I try.
I've got a Model 70 Classic with a fairly hard bolt lift. It doesn't matter if the chamber is loaded or not.
I've tried adding a dab of Breakfree where the cocking (?) mechanism is at the back of bolt. I even swapped bolts with my other Model 70 and it feels the same.
Could this be in...
For every bullet I test, I go through the whole process of figuring out the OAL to the lands for that specific bullet (using a Hornady Comperator) and write each one down in my log book.
I used to use a Hornady OAL gauge but I figured out that the modified case has a different headspace...
Nebraska's November firearm deer season opened Saturday and the weather couldn't have been more perfect. This year was the first time in at least 10-12 years we had a nice blanket of snow on the ground (2''-3'') for opening day. Temps were in the single digits in the morning and didn't get too...
I've got a box of 117 gr. Hornady Interlock BTSP's on the way. Do you suppose I would be safe to use load data for a 117 gr Gameking out of my Sierra Manual for a starting point?
I've got 5 manuals already and didn't want to drop the coin for another if I can't get these to shoot.
Or if...
I finally got out to re-test this load yesterday. It was hovering in the mid 40's with a stiff 15-20 mph south wind (directly at my back). The results were a little disappointing.
I shot 6-3 shot groups:
55.3 gr (R-22): 0.20'' off lands / 0.30'' off lands / 0.40'' off lands
55.5 gr (R-22)...
Nice shooting with the 25-06. I've found with mine, like you did, they tend to like the slower burning powders.
As to the yahoo in lane 9...we had a guy shooting jugs with us the afternoon before opening day of deer season last year that was shooting a 300 WM (that's what he told us anyway)...
My current.
08 Dodge Ram 4x4. Gets me wherever I need to go.
I'm hoping to get this one running one of these days. It needs a lot of work. '79 Dodge Adventurer 3/4 ton with a 318. I think it's a full time 4x4, so it's got a top speed of about 60. It'll climb a mountain though. It's...
Well crap...wish I'd know about this before I bought my WFT a couple of weeks ago. Looks like a good way to go. It might be worth getting one anyway.
Anyone want a 30-06 WFT...make ya a helluva deal on one (slightly used of course)?
Thanks for the review greenheadcaller.
I'm gonna play with the seating depth a little on all 3 loads...the tinkerer in me won't let me to leave it alone, so we'll see what happens the next time out. The plan is to try 0.020'' & 0.040'' off the lands along with these loads again.
Only 48 at a time?
My local Cabelas had Reloader 15, 17, 19 & 22 in stock the other day. Maybe the squeeze will loosen sometime soon (not gonna hold my breath though).
I know what you mean. 2 years ago, I tried everything under the sun (so I though anyway) to get the 117 gr Gameking's to shoot out of this rifle and I couldn't get a darn thing to work. I've still got about 1/2 a box sitting on the shelf and now I'm half-tempted to try them again.
I'm...
