    280 AI, 132gr Tipped Hammer

Sighted in my rifle to the load over the weekend. The only group I shot was this: It appears as though it was a good call to go with the 56.5gr load.

    6.5 PRC Primer?

6.5 PRC factory loads are with LR primers, and most handload data you find will be using standard large rifle primers as well. I think you'll be okay. I just looked at Nosler and Hornady's data and they used WLR and F210 respectively.

Which monolithic bullet for tough game with 300 Win Mag?

Hammer is my go to, but you can't go wrong with any of them. Even the new CX from Hornady is a pretty great bullet.

    280 AI, 132gr Tipped Hammer

Still gets me giddy that I even own it 😁 Thanks! And no, it’s a 700. I replaced the shroud with a Lawton style one from PT&G You and me both. I’m running out of venison and buying beef just ain’t the same. Thanks a bunch, Allen

    280 AI, 132gr Tipped Hammer

For this season’s muley hunt, I decided to work up a load with the new 132gr HHT, courtesy of @AFG270’s kindness. I chose: - Hybrid 100V as the powder. - Remington 9 1/2 LR primers. - Peterson 280 AI brass, once fired. I started working up from 55gr to 57gr in .5gr increments. Never hit...

All of you M70 fans and your super grades are making me really jealous. Beautiful rifle, Fotis.

    Dad's 700.

I heard from a Remington rep that they wanted to start making their lefties at the end of this year or the beginning of next. I asked specifically about the BDLs.

    Dad's 700.

Looks like you got yourself a shooter. Did you take the time to float the barrel or is that all with the contact points intact?

    Brass Question

I’d feel for cracks internally with a paper clip before tossing them all out.

    338-06 thoughts??

I'd stick away from a Tikka because the 338-06 has a longer COAL than the magazine allows. I've also heard that Tikka barrels are a nightmare to rebore.

    Chiappa 1892 45 Colt CCH

I don’t wanna do it but bills are bills. Here’s a real purty 1892 clone from Chiappa, an Italian company. It’s chambered in 45 Colt and can handle all the high pressure +++P rounds you could dream of. I don’t have much info on it. It’s got a 20” barrel. I think it holds 10+1. It’s got a...

    Vista Outdoor

On one hand I always like to see Czechia doing well internationally (as a Bohemian myself) and on the other I know it’ll probably slow down stuff yet again

    Scope Mounting Questions

This rifle has the Backcountry mounts on it with a 40mm objective/1 inch tube scope in them.

    Scope Mounting Questions

Don't discount aluminum just because it isn't as strong as steel. The Backcountries are fantastic mounts (and all that I'll use if I can). What I'd worry more about is if you even have the length on the scope tube for mounting it on the long Mark V action with the backcountries.
