Ok, I'll play just this one time.
1. I'm not a Trump fanboy. I agree with him on some things, disagree on other things, and I think he's a jackass, personally. So let's get that out of the way.
2. I have 2 uncles who served in Vietnam, special forces stuff. My family has been killing commies...
I mean, that's why we feed them for 18 years, right???
When the young lads tease you about being old, you just use it to your advantage. "Son, I killed a big buck down in the creek bottom, but my back is hurting today. Drag him up to the top of the hill, I'll meet you at the truck." 😁
Just FYI, Ramshot Enforcer and Accurate 4100 are the same powder, just different labels. Here's an example from the Western Powder load data, for 45 Colt (30K PSI):
Well, I can't speak to the pheasant and trout situation, but "Guntucky" has some pretty good deer hunting opportunities. Winters are fairly mild, especially compared to SD. Property and cost of living is relatively low, and it's quite red outside of a couple urban areas. Come on down!! 🙂
Mine is on a .243, and I've had it on a 6.5 CM before I got the 6.5-20x scope. So, nothing big. My complaints with the Burris scopes are that they are a little heavy/solid, and the eye relief is a little shorter than I would prefer. But no complaints about optical quality, adjustments, etc...
I tried liking the G23, couldn't get there with it. Sold it to a friend and bought a P229, then traded that on a P320. I also have a P365 that is my EDC, and a Sig 1911 stainless in .40.
I think maybe that there is some misunderstanding here. It sounds as if the OP is concerned by Trump's policies, and someone PM'd him to express their own concerns. At least, that's the way I read it.
OP, while it's certainly your choice of where you spend your time, I would encourage you to...
I don't know if it's still on sale, but recently Midway had the Fullfield E1 6.5-20x50 on sale for $179, regular $299. I jumped on that for my new 6.5 CM Franchi.
Brad, I think that's what my son has on his 7mag. I know it's a Diamondback 4-16x42, but not sure about the rest. It is a FFP scope, I know that. I can check it out and see if that's the exact model easy enough.
Yes, those MS actions are slick. I have an early 60's MCA model in .30-06, which I purchased from the estate of my sister-in-law's father. He bought it when he was stationed in Germany, then brought it home to Alaska where he used it extensively. My SIL said it was his favorite rifle, and he had...
OP, if you haven't done it already, get yourself a trigger spring kit from MCarbo for your Browning. Really made a difference on my X-bolt. It's as good as my son's Tikka or the Timney in my Mauser. And it's only about $15.

Wow, that's a sucky time for ML. After the Orange Army has stomped around the woods for a week or two, the deer are skittish and often nocturnal. Here in KY, there's about a 3-week break between the end of rifle season and the beginning of ML. Allows things to settle down a bit.
