Never used any Retumbo but I shot RL22 and IMR-4831with either a 140 gr Partition or 140 gr BT in my 7 mag with outstanding results for many years. For whatever reason I eventually started using the 150 gr Ballistic Tip with stellar results as well.

Im not sure any true panaceas exist but if one does exist I think it would be the 165 gr in the 308. It's my favorite bullet weight in this caliber.

Great pic my brother. In SC we have two permanent hawks, Red-Tail and Red Shoulder, however we have other species at different times of the year. We also have Broad-winged Hawk, and the Swainson's and Rough-legged Hawks, they are rare but regular Winter visitors.

I don't own one now but have owned several 270's over the years and was partial to 150 gr bullets and RL-22, of course I did use my share both versions of 4831 though.
