Hornady's new 257 Ackley Improved (Improved) or AII

No arguments there. A 257 Roberts AI was my first rifle

    Bergers for Hunting or Not?

Used to use them-I don't any longer for game. For me, they were inconsistent in performance...Sometimes opening up and performing well, and sometimes penciling.

    Loading for Youth

At those distances, even a reduced load will have enough impact velocity to perform. Since she is recoil sensitive I would consider 22 Creed or 22GT, 6 GT or 6mm Creed, and the 25 Creedmoor. Depends what is minimum caliber where she will be hunting

    6.5 Creed / 140 Ballistic Tips

I think...Norma makes Nosler brass. It is probably a little softer in the head than Lapua, but it is good brass.

.284 Win - Long Action Possibilities

@Bull67 , Welcome! Sounds like a nice rifle. Pictures? Barrel contour? 1-9 Twist? 284 Win is one of my favorites. I love the 284 Win family of cartridges as well, as I have the 6.5-284, 25-284, and 6-284 in fast twist specialty pistols as well.

    6GT is Rocking

Several Sunday's ago, Glenn and went out and I shot the 6 GT and my center-grip 7mm SAUM XP's at 300, 510ish, 6650ish and at 1011 yards. Glenn shot a couple of his XP's too. I was very pleased with the accuracy of both XP's

6BR versus a 7mm SAUM/180 Hybrid's is not fair-You shot and read the wind excellent. FWIW - I would never use a 6BR, 6 BRA or 6GT for 1000 yard F-Open, unless it is the only thing I have to shoot.

I am looking forward to you getting spoiled using a joystick rest. When I started using one around 18 years ago, my first comment to someone or myself was, "It feels like I am cheating." This is just statistics, but I think it was last year for F-Class Nationals and the South West Nationals...

    Short barreled .257AI

Just use regular powders for long barrels. I don't always use The Slowest Powder, but sometimes I will use one just a tad faster then the slowest. Example: 15-18" 6.5-284 I typically use H-4350, but I have also used H-4831sc
