This is harder than it looks... Because I'm not one to pass up even a modest reason to buy a new rifle, I've not purchased looking for cartridges that cover a wide variety of use. And interestingly, when I made this list, I ended up with rifles/calibers I don't currently own because they...
I've bought a lot from them over the years. Always a solid company to deal with.
For AR barrels though, Rainier Arms Ultramatch all the way. They are outstanding.
Given it's .308 diameter and any hunting loads will use the same bullets as the .308 with almost identical velocities, I'd say your expectations should be just like shooting .308 Win.
Wow.. that's brutal mate, sorry you're having so many problems with this one.
Certainly rules out the optic. With 4 rails/rings tried, it's got to be the receiver. They had good response when I spent back my 7mm08. Good luck, I hope they figure it out!
Have you tried a different scope on it? Has the scope you're putting on it worked well in other rings?
I've never had a problem with the rifle or bases being that badly out of alignment, but I have seen some scopes have their zero set to close to the end of their elevation travel. the better...
Depends entirely on the rifle/optic combo and what type of range you can work with.
If you can play around with your sight in range, at least with hunting rifles, I want to find a zero that holds +/- 4-5" elevation change as long as far out as possible.
Example:
7mm08 AB 2825fps .485 BC...
I've sent a fair number of round downrange with a 7STW and not had any issue with the LRAB setting back. With stiff loads they have remained in place. I've done the same with heavy 35 whelen loads and they were just fine.
A few thoughts:
- Did you top off your rifle and leave the same 2-3...
I've had mine now since the week they started shipping and have probably 300-400 rounds through it. Let me start by saying I don't like pocket pistols. They don't feel right in my large hands. They feel too snappy for what they do... But the G42 is the first one to break this mold. I...
Hey all - It's been awhile since I posted, but I could use some help sorting out some options in my head, figured you guys might be able to provide some feedback.
I now have a ridiculous amount of points for the deer draw in AZ. I'd say I have a very very good chance of getting drawn this...
Over time, my opinion has evolved. I started with straight Hornady then started on a Redding kick with a few other dalliances along the way. As of now, I just don't think the die or the press, if properly setup, is really a meaningful limitation on the quality of the ammo you can produce...
More information would be really helpful to help you pick an optic.
- What are you hunting? What conditions? (Range, time of day, altitude? etc.)
- What rifle / caliber is it destine for? Is weight a factor? Are you humping it up and down mountains?
- Do you have another rifle/scope combo...
I tapped into my last keg of N320 and I'm starting to wonder where my next 'fix' is going to come from...
Anyone have an update on when we can see VV back in stock? Anyone else think that they will soon be soon contemplating standing at the crossroads and making a bad deal with a man from...
Are you degasing the solution prior to use and using distilled water?
I have the Hornady 2L model and if I use their solution, degas the distilled water, and run a batch for 15 minutes, I get extremely clean brass. Keep in mind, it's not polished, it's clean.
If I want shiny, I'll run...
