    Bergers for Hunting or Not?

I've never had an issue with Bergers but haven't killed a ton with them and the ones I have used have been at low velocity. I shot quite a few in a 15" barreled Encore pistol in 260 Rem. The barrel was later rechambered to 6.5-270 JDJ and I used the 140gr VLD Hunting bullets, among others. The...

    Shout out to RCBS

I've had similar experience with RCBS and some other reloading companies. They've always gone above and beyond!

Hornady's new 257 Ackley Improved (Improved) or AII

Yeah but the 257 Roberts has panache!

    175 grain ABLR elk recovery

My 168gr ABLR with 2900 fps MV, hit a nice Alabama buck steeply quartering away. Went through almost the entire length of the deer and found under the skin, 80ish yard shot. I'd have no qualms about upclose shots on deer or pigs. I don't think I'd personally worry about it on bigger critters...

    175 grain ABLR elk recovery

Awesome results and recovery. I love the 168gr ABLR in my 20" barreled 7mm PRC and works awesome on deer. The 142gr version is deadly on deer as well from my 6.5 PRC.

Hornady's new 257 Ackley Improved (Improved) or AII

I'd be all over that if it's true, but I can't imagine them coming out with that after they just released the 25 CM. Not much of a performance difference. If anything, maybe a 25 PRC? Though a 257 Roberts AII does sound very intriguing! My favorite caliber is the 257 Roberts, killed my first...

    Tikka T3x Roughtech

Man those are some great velocities, especially the 140gr load. So much for slow Tikka barrels. Looks like you have some very promising results and with a touch more tweaking, you'll be dialed. Though there's not a thing wrong with those results!

185 gr Berry's Hollow Base plated bullets

I like those Berry bullets as well. Shot quite a few in 9mm, 40 & 45 along with the Rainier plated bullets. Just don't push them too fast. My Springfield 1911 liked the 200gr SWC Berry's version over Titegroup.

    44 Mag Bullet Test

Interesting results. Not much expansion going on there. The Hornady FTX tends to like being driven a lot faster, not sure about the others. Not your pretty full mushrooms, but results are results.

    Tikka T3x Roughtech

Gotta love Tikka's and the good ol' 270 Win. Ramshot Hunter does very well in my 270 with 130gr Accubonds & Interbonds. So many good powders and bullets available.

308 Win 180 grain Norma Bondstrike

@badaxeriverman I know you've posted that about the Accubonds acting like FMJ's over and over but you're the only person I've ever heard claim that. I've been using the Accubonds since they came out in multiple different calibers on coyotes, tons of deer and hogs with MV's from 2400 to 3000+ and...

    New old rifle 7MM mag

Love those CZ550's and thats a handsome rifle. Let us know how it shoots! One things for sure, those rings won't shift on that Ruger. Can't believe Cabelas even took that in.

    Good weekend with the ABLRs!

Excellent shooting! I've become a big fan of the ABLR's and have taken several deer with them including out of a 6.5 PRC. What kind of velocity are you getting with N565 and the 142's?

    Squib Load

It's scary when that happens. Luckily I've only had that happen twice. Once with a .45 ACP reload where I forgot powder and the other with a factory 9mm. The 45 went off and stovepiped and the bullet lodged in the barrel just enough to keep the next round from chambering all the way and saved my...
