    Starlink Internet

Rick, I'm 99% sure we had to buy the receiver and , yes, the price was more than the other providers. However, like you, we had tried several others and they were mediocre to terrible. So far, Starlink is/was more expensive but the performance has proven to be much better for us, anyway. Ron

    Starlink Internet

We've had it for 4 or 5 months. So far, it's been great, no issues to speak of. In really crappy weather you may lose signal but it resets itself pretty fast. Ron

    Decisions...Decisions...Decisions

I currently own two Tikka 6.5 PRCs and have had a third. None of mine have been the Roughtech stocked versions but the action are the same. Tikkas are my first choice across the board. Bear in mind their barrels are known for being "slow" compared to other brands so you often won't get equal...

    Where is Spring!

I live in central Missouri. This past week we had temps in the 60s to 80s depending on the day. We woke up this morning to 67⁰ and partly sunny. It's now 31⁰ and snowing it's butt off. Lows tonight are in the teens, 20s for a high tomorrow, teens again tomorrow night. After that, a rapid rise...

Just to clarify, when you said " 308 die" did you mean just one die or a set? Ron

New Gift Cards in The Store

I have one of his Osage orange (hedge) calls and it is every bit as good as he described. I believe if you buy one, you won't regret it. Ron

    Brownells has Reloder 17

I received an email from Brownells yesterday stating they have Reloder 17 in stock, $65.99 per lb. They only have it in single pound containers, nothing larger. Ron

    First handgun deer taken

I actually own four .41's. I have the Redhawk, a S&W Model 58, a S&W 657 Lew Horton special edition with a 3-inch barrel and round butt, as well as a Marlin 1894 lever gun.

    First handgun deer taken

This morning was the opening day of Missouri's Alternative portion of our deer season. Alternative means black powder weapons, handguns, archery, atlatls, and air guns can be used. No centerfire rifles or shotguns are allowed I had never handgun hunted before but I have owned a Ruger Redhawk...

    Remington 7600 Rifle

Can anyone explain to me why these guns have gotten so expensive? I've watched the prices steadily climb but can't seem to identify a root cause. I own three, a Grice black synthetic 7600 in 280, a 1980's 7600 in 270, and a 1960's 760 30-06. Ron

    Velocity anomaly (for me anyway)

According to the Hornady Manual they used a Model 70 with a 23 1/4 in barrel, Hornady brass, Winchester primers. I also wondered if my rifle has a "fast" barre.l I guess my main question was the 125 fps difference between data and results. I wholeheartedly agree 1.25 inch rifles will reliably...

    Velocity anomaly (for me anyway)

This is similar to AzDak42's thread but I didn't want to hijack his. A few days ago I took some 30-06 ammo to the range to test it for our upcoming deer season. The components were once fired Remington brass, Federal 210 primers (not match), 150 gr Hornady SSTs, over 60 gr of Reloder 17...

    Quick range trip after work

I have an egg shoot coming up this Saturday. Normally, I devote some time to testing loads and rifles but work and weather interfered so that I was running out of time. After work I took a couple of rifles and some loads I came up with to see what shot best and that is gonna be what I use...

What did you use to kill your first deer?

I would have been 25 and bought a Remington 700 BDL 308 because I'd read the 308 was slightly more accurate than a 30-06. I didn't know squat about scopes and so I bought a 3-9x Bushnell Sportview at Wal-Mart for it. I didn't reload so I bought some 150 gr Winchester Silvertips. My dad/family...
