    SpyPoint Cellular Game Cameras.

I have two but don't recall the model name offhand. I liked the fact I didn't have to buy another cell phone plan for them to work. I put them out last October and brought them in at the end of January when I also turned off the plan. For my needs and practices, I think they're fine and don't...

Why No Love for The .308 Winchester

Back in the days before the internet, hunting/gun magazines were the way to learn about stuff. I researched before buying my first deer rifle and decided it would be a 308, for many of the reasons listed by other posters. I killed my first deer with a 700 BDL using 150 grain Winchester...

Better accuracy in 358 Win. - 200 gr. Horn SP or 200 gr. Horn RN

I loaded the 200 Spire point for my BLR and got very good accuracy with it. The doe I shot didn't care for them, however. Ron

    Sunday afternoon visitors

Yesterday, this guy brought two girlfriends to visit us. They were about 50-60 yards from the house and stayed for 30-45 minutes. 20 days until the season opens. Ron

    EuroOptics

I bought a new Tikka about about a month ago through them. Best prices I've seen in a long time and the processing and shipping was fast as always.

    Olive Garden Imitation

Several years ago, my wife found the recipe for zuppa toscana in a book. We have made it a lot but I "enhanced it" by adding onion, a little minced garlic, and more meat and potatoes than the OG version. I also make 'cheesy bread", a recipe I concocted using pre-sliced French or Italian bread...

Which open tipped bullet do you have experience with taking game....

I know it's not the exact bullet you mentioned but I have used the 30 cal. 165 grain Sierra HPBT out of a 308. Accuracy was very good, and I killed a doe with it at 88 yds. A small sample size but it worked very well on paper and critter. The HPBTs use a Matchking jacket with the main difference...

    Target bullet for 6.5 CM?

My Tikka Tactical absolutely loves Sierra 130 Tipped Matchkings. It has shot very well for me out to 500 yds. I would also try some 140 BTHPs (pick your preferred brand) as these seem to have a good reputation as well. One of my standbys (next to the 130 TMKs) is the 147 Hornady ELDM. These...

22-250 Remington & 64 Gr Sierra Tipped Gamechanger, HELP?

I talked to a friend who works at Sierra and confirmed the 64 gr TGK IS discontinued. However, they recently ran a batch so there are some floating around out there. If it's a favorite bullet, or you want to see if your rifle likes it, you might shop around and get some if you can find them...

    Nosler - New for 2025(?)

Well, it's been a week since I made the original post and since SHOT Show ended. In that time, I haven't seen or heard anything from or about Nosler except what RL338 posted. That was the email I referenced in the first post. I can only presume and conclude there will be no new bullets from...

    Nosler - New for 2025(?)

I received an email from Nosler the other day promoting new items for 2025. It consisted of new calibers in brass and ammunition offerings, but no bullets. Does anyone know if this is the entire new product lineup for this year or was this a few selected items? Ron

Browning BLR- .308 or .358 Win

+1 to what the other posters have said. I used the 200 gr Hornady spire point to kill a whitetail doe 2 years ago and it was very decisive. If you elect to go with the 358, 3 or 4 months ago Midsouth Shooters Supply had a run of Hornady 358 brass. Ron

    Browning BLR 308

Blkram, you are 100% right. I was going off what the dealer told me, but when I looked at the box, it was not a pre-81. In researching the serial number I found it was made in 1981, the first year of the revamped version. Ron

    Browning BLR 308

This is the rifle my wife got me for Christmas. It was a complete surprise. I had seen it in a gunshop, mentioned it in passing, and a few days later she stopped on her way home from work and bought it. Today I got around to installing a scope. I chose a Leupold VX-III, 3,5-10x40 I already had...

    Which one?

I have a Tikka T1x 22 LR that I like very much. It has shot everything I've put in it very well, but really likes the Lapua Super Match for sheer grouping. Ron

    Good deal on bullets

Not that I ever heard. The ones that were grossly deformed in some manner were scrapped. It's been several years since I heard, but that's what the standards used to be.

    Good deal on bullets

Usually it's something cosmetic like a dark spot in the jacket material. Sometimes it's a weight issue. If I remember correctly, Sierra uses a .2 grain variance, high or low, from the bullet weight to make it a second. Ron
