    Scope Mounting Question

I do it much like Ridge Runner but I build a clamp on level holder that goes on the barrel because I use Talley's alot versus rails. Its a couple 1x2's clamped together and drilled for several different barrel diameters with a plate of 1/4" steel bolted to the top for the magnetic level. I get...

    Best Tasting Animal?

I'd just settle for spot prawns. We use to catch a bunch off of Vancouver Island.

I've had Dall and Bighorn and both were good.

Sheep is the best followed closely by moose and then elk.

    100,000 PSI?

The biggest problem with steel based cases is they are not forgiving like brass. Much of the same as nickle coated cases. In a dirty environment something has to give if dirt enters the chamber, will it be the case or the barrel?

    2026 Rifle Plans

Dont believe everything PTG says. I bought 4 "blueprinted" actions, including 1 307, and 3 were further out then a factory Remington. It was a old Remington with the bandsaw cut at the front of the action too. They didnt like to see the videos I sent them. If that wasnt bad enough the thread...

    Reloading the big Girl

I've got people bugging me to build big brakes so I guess I'll have to finally finish my 375 CT Imp and 37XC for testing 😂

    The 224 Bee Saga

If it continues with magnum primers I'd only reload the cases that had low ES and see if it does it again. There could be something wrong with the brass quality.

    WSM to 6.5 PRC?

I have a 6.5wsm reamer. A gunsmith friend of mine loves his 6.5wsm so I had to get a reamer and try it. It seems silly considering how many 6.5's I have but what's one more. I havent built mine yet but he shoots 156 Bergers 3175 from a 24" barrel. I've used Remington 700 ultra mag actions for...

    ATTN: Nosler

No offense but at the price they charge for the ABLR you shouldn't have to benchrest sort bullets to get hunting accuracy. Your paying a premium price to get a second rate bullet then. You'd be better off to use Bergers or ELD-M's and save the hours of bullet sorting. Like them or not Bergers...

QL Data - 6.5 PRC Dr. Mike, please

I'm not sure what your shooting but I'd consider 147 ELD-M's. My dad, my kids, and I have all shot elk with them with good success. Seated to 2.95-2.955 OAL with 54.3grs of R-26 in fired Peterson brass, 54.7grs of R-26 in new Peterson brass or with N565 they shoot tiny groups in all the rifles...

    Magnetospeed vs Gramin

Most likely the difference in velocity is the distance from the muzzle that the velocity is read. The bullet has to be a distance for the doppler to pick it up and to get a second ping to establish two times in order to figure speed. The MS reads right at the muzzle.

    Nosler 28 vs 30

The problem with the 28 is its really hard on barrels. Probably 5-6 years ago it was the rage for hunters but at under 200 rounds the throats would start creeping forward., to the tune of .010 or so every 100 rounds. That makes keeping loads in tune really hard when your chasing the lands. The...

    Canadian Gun Buyback

Canada needs its own version of Charlie Kirk to teach them the errors in liberal ideaology and stop the brain washing our youth gets in schools. Giving up freedoms because they think the goverment will protect you is one of those errors. Another is its all about me, me me me. If it doesnt...

    Bolt Issue, clicker?

It could be a ton of different things but the two most common would be.....a clicker, meaning the case isn't sizing enough and/or the chamber is under size or has tight headspace and your die isn't bumping the shoulder back enough or reducing the web diameter enough. It could also be a lack of...

7 PRC brass life and chamber/die issues

If there is too much of the case unsupported, too much clearance between the bolt and barrel, it usually leaves a bulge that can be felt or seen. I would do as Mark suggested and measure a new case, a fired case, and a sized case to try and figure out what the issue is.
