I’m on my second year with mine.
It is in my vehicle, basically, all fall.
Unfortunately I have not had a chance to use it - for a deer.
We use it quite a bit for yard work and such.
Many uses, and hopefully I’ll get a chance to use it for a deer.
We always hunt mornings on opening day, and after that maybe once or twice.
I prefer going in mid day, and hunting evenings.
To simplify my thinking, in mornings Bucks are traveling from food to bed, and in evenings, traveling from bed to food.
I feel that they are more predictable traveling...
I’ve been playing around with developing a new load for my .308 Win and the 130 grain Barnes ttsx for a couple of years.
This summer I was able to find something that my rifle liked and it payed off.
About 20 minutes before legal shooting light was done, I was watching a young Doe graze the...
There are various types of leather conditioners available that could work.
I would try and avoid food oils as some can go rancid.
Neatsfoot oil is what I would recommend for leather.
Also it sounds like the wallet may be thick?
A half inch empty wallet is kinda thick and if that is the case...
I unfortunately had to attend a funeral last week for the Mother of a friend.
I was able to get to the range after the services and test the load for accuracy.
It was a beautiful sunny day with temps in the 50-60s
My rounds were in the sunny vehicle for over an hour, which I’m sure reached into...
Looks like you’re going to gain a step up on those deer!😳😉
Best wishes to you!
On a side note, I hunted most of the day yesterday, and had a tick embedded, and engorged in my arm last night.
They are really bad here this year in CNY.
Take precautions and check yourself better than I did yesterday.
I would like to add Starline brass to consider.
While I’ve never used Norma brass (because of the cost), I have used Remington, Nosler, and Winchester.
I’ve come to really like Starline.
It seems that case capacity may be a bit smaller than say Nosler, but it has done very well for me.
It falls...
Yes shots would be 300 yds and in most likely.
I believe the temperature was approximately 55-60 degrees.
I just really like the idea of them going fast so that they open well at the distances I shoot.
I’ve read some things that made me wonder about the temperature sensitivity.
I’m probably...
I’ve finally found what I believe is a good load for my Tikka T3X compact in .308 Win., using the Barnes 130 grain ttsx bullets.
It is with an upper load of TAC, and is traveling around 3160 fps at the muzzle.
Not bad for a 20” barrel.
I’ve shot a four shot group that will fit inside an inch at...
Yes thank you!
As a Father of two nurses, one in a hospital ICU, and one in a Doctors office, I agree with everything you’ve said.
In NY medical staff is required to ask these questions, whether they want to or not.
I think sometimes we hold others at standards higher than we expect from...
I always buy my Accubonds when they come available as seconds.
The only difference I can find is that they come in a little plastic bag instead of a box.
