all of those should work fine in the 9 twist. the heaviest i've shot so far in my dad's pre64 mod70 264wm was sierra 140sbt's using 61.3gr of imr4831. after 2,500+ rounds i stopped shooting it. now i have 2 more 264wm's. post64 and a custom built from a 110 action w/32" 7.5t McGowen for...
you left out the 3rd key component...................duct tape. every farmer/rancher knows you can fix 99% or everything with wire (bailing or barbed) hammer and duct tape🦆:ROFLMAO:
I crimp all pistol and rifle rounds for semi and ba's (don't own any rrevolvers). It's a choice as we use what works for the individual! I will say 357sig need a crimp as there's not much neck to hold the bullet very well. Probably any bottleneck pistol cartridges need it.
i'm another of these young'ns on here..............i was 3 3/4 (3.75 for decimal lovers) years old and couldn't say what i was doing. depending on tod i could've been bouncing around in the feed truck out feeding cattle of my parents teaching me how to write right-handed cause they couldn't...
I've used my 550b since '84 and 550c since '16 with good success. When I started reloading in '84 it was for 44mag and 264wm. With the 2nd stage being their powder die and hopper is set it @ 61.3gr of imr4831 for the 140sbt sierra's. I never chrono'd any back then, but seem to be very...
THE BIG DIFFERENCE IS SUPPOSED TO BE WITH 15K EXTRA PSI ON MAX FOR THE ADVANTAGE ON SMALLER CAPACITY CASES. NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN THE 277FURY, BUT W/O THE 2-PIECE CASE. SURE YOU CAN GET THE SAME VELOCITIES WITH THE SAME BARREL LENGTH OF THE 7BC, BUT REQUIRES A LARGER CAPACITY...
Any pre64 is a winner! Great find! I tried getting Winchester to replace the barrel on the '61 model 264wm of my dad's, but wouldn't do it since it still meets their moa (1.5 or 1.25) before they'll replace it on their nickel. I've put over 2,500 rounds down the pipe since i started...
on my dad's pre64 i used 61.3grs of imr4831 w/sierra 140sbt's. that's the load i started with and have used ever since until i stopped shooting the rifle 2,500 rounds + down the pipe over 30 odd years not counting the 7 years before i started reloading. started shooting it at 11yo and...
But the satisfaction is rewarding on the job done by yourself! I'm thinking about changing my name cause too many people use it when wanting something :ROFLMAO:. Tireless work
For 308win to me anything less than 16" isn't very efficient. 18-22" for 150-168's is near perfect. I only have 1 308win with a barrel longer than 22" (26"rock river ar).
sierra's 210sjhp worked well for me. but then again there wasn't anything the 629 8 3/8 didn't like. 180's would be my choice tho. as far as the gold dots go, i haven't tried any in the 44mag, but did shoot some in the 50ae. since deep (wt & mule) are thin skinned the xtp's would work...
