    Public Land Turkey Hunting Tips

Here in Central WI there is next to no public land. If you live near farmland or know a farmer with a woods that would be better. This is a biggy with Bergers. Years back my son had a 210gr VLD pencil thru a buck. We did recover it with a little work. I missed on cleaning out the tumbling media in the open tip.

What powders should I look to first?

H110 is an excellent powder for the 44 Mag. Hornady has a recommended case trim length for that bullet.

    Where is Spring!

Snowing and blowing pretty good out there this morning. This is by far the largest storm for Central WI ever. Wausau which is a little east of me where our weather forecast comes from , is over 30”. This storm beats the previous by quite a bit.

Got it home today and put a couple of hours plowing and packing yesterday’s snow down for tomorrow’s storm. We had an 1” of rain last week taking the frost out of the ground and it is soft and muddy under the snow now. I can’t say enough about having a heated can.

This afternoon we went from a Winter Storm Warning to a Blizzard Warning for tomorrow thru Monday afternoon. There has been only 2 Blizzard Warning for my county in the last 25 yrs , must be some serious crap moving in tonight.

    Where is Spring!

Last night we received 8” of some really wet snow. This weekend we are expecting a huge snow storm , and to think Monday it was in the 60’s. I hope this is wrong , we don’t need 20 - 30+ inches more.

I do have an Arps 90 backhoe that mounts to my 871 Ford. I agree that it’s a very handy attachment to have around.
