The Alpine CT and ST have floor plate so i wonder if it would be the same as your Mark V. The ones with the plastic Magpul mags that stick way out don't do it for me so they are off the table.
Anybody have any experience with the Weatherby 307 series of rifles? Specifically the Alpine CT.
I've been eyeing a Browning Xbolt 2 in 280AI as a Christmas gift to myself and stumbled on the Alpine CT also coming in 280AI. Any input folks have with the 307 line of rifles and particularly the...
I have a 2018 f150 with the 5.0. Bought it new and have had 0 issues with it. Truck pulls trailers just fine. Mine is leveled with bigger AT tires and I do a fair amount of city driving so I've taken a hit mpg wise but that was expected. But, I would happily buy another one tomorrow if I had...
Selling 100 pieces of Peterson brass in 6. PRC. Brass has been fired once, FL sized, ran over a .2625 mandrel. Necks are sitting at .290 and are ready to load. Brass is from the same batch. Brass will come in the 100 rd MTM ammo box or original boxes, buyers choice.
Asking $120 for all...
Don't know. Never tasted goose.
But, I can say with certainty that swan tastes very similar to venison. I know. Its odd to say but I've let 3 people try it and all 3 have said if I had not told them it was swan, they would have though it was venison.
Super late posting this. Killed a swan Jan. 11, 2025
Third swan in 3 yrs. Always a good hunt hanging out with buddies and wrap up the season on a high note.
I'd love to get my hands on RL19 or IMR7828ssc but those are nonexistent for me. Most of the Vihtivori powders are easy to get and Hogdon is hit or miss. That was the reason I was looking heavily at n150/n160/n550/n555.
I'm guessing my CCI 200 primers will be fine. That's what I've got for...
Looking to add a 280 AI to the collection at the end of hunting season. I've got a chance to get a Browning Xbolt 2 Speed at a great price and since I've been itching to get a 280 AI, its time to jump on.
Looking to load 160 TMK, 165 TGK, 162 ELD-M/ELD-X bullets in Peterson brass. Rifle will...
Tried it in my 6.5 PRC. Was not a fan.
Average accuracy. SD/ES numbers were well above what I can get with n565/n165/h4831sc. Velocity wasn't impressive. I gave up on it for serious applications. The remaining amount i've got will go towards fireforming brass or sighter rounds to warm...
I found the 145 to shoot well with 4831sc but only on the lower charge weights. I had okay results with the 145 and n565.
The 140 has shot better with n565 and 4831sc. My 4831sc groups have been great. But velocity is low with my current lot of powder. N565 has been nearly as good in terms...
Fun facts:
NC is the largest producer of sweet potatoes in the US.
Nearly 60% of US grown sweet potatoes come from NC.
NC has been the largest producer of sweet potatoes in the US since the early 1970's.
And I agree on the 165 being the sweet spot for 30-06. Grandpa was a IMR 4064 over 165...
I was 13 and hunting with my grandpa in Va. I had a Beretta 391 20ga youth.
Small doe came by and embarrassingly I missed her at 25 yds. Not once. Not twice. Not three times. But four times I fired and she just bounded off.
First shot was a 3" slug and the other 3 were 3" buckshot. My...
I might have to get some details of that 142 ABLR load. I traded for a box and have been wanting to try them. I hear the are a little picky at times.
I just have a hard time using anything other than 140 TGK in my rifle. Shoots them lights out with n565 and H4831sc.
Those were my buddies loads so I don't have a ton of info on them. All I can say is in his rifle they were very good performers. He killed an axis deer in Hawaii in September 2023, a nice buck in NY in November 2023, a doe in NC in December 2023, and my buck in December 2023.
Temps ranged...
I need to revisit n555 in my 30-06.
I played with it some last year and velocity with 165 bullets was slow compared to h4350. Accuracy was okay. But not long after I played with n555 I discovered I had a scope issue and had to replace that scope. So, accuracy not being on point could have...
Dad and I have killed a pile of deer with a 130 and 140 SST in our 270's. I am sure the 129 will be a good choice in the 6.5 CM.
I've only killed a couple deer with a 6.5, granted it was a PRC. The 140 TGK is stellar on game from my experience with them.
