I have been using the 350 Gr Speer for over 20 years here in Alaska from Ruger No 1 to Marlin GG in 45/70. I load them to 2000 fps and use them for Bear and Moose for close shots 150 yards and less. Excellent Bullet the Speer 350 FN.

Big fan of the Speer Hot Core especially the .308 Dia in 200gr for the 300 Win mag and the .458 in 350gr for my 45/70. Excellent bullet for Alaska hunting. The 165gr Hot Cor is also excellent in the 308 Win.

I handload the 45 ACP + P at lower 45 Super levels. For the width of the largest interior grizzly I will have no problem with enough penetration with the correct bullets. I have had excellent results with RimRock TS 250gr RNFN . Yes I like the bigger hole especially on bears.

Switched to Warne Mountain Tech rings and Mountain Tech Rail several years ago from the Leupold Rings and Dovetail mounts !

In the Lapua I see they recommend 97.0 of Grand Powder with 250’s for just over 3000 fps. Noticed with LRT with 250’s were over 3100 fps…I know this is just published data and not real world . My goal is just 3000 fps in either RUM or Lapua with 250’s.

I see that on burn chart ! Up here in Interior I don’t see any H1000 or Retumbo on the shelves but RamShot LRT and Grand are. I bought a pound of Grand to try in the RUM and Lapua with the 250’s.

Anyone tried 338 RUM with Grand Powder with 250’s either the Accubond or LRX ?

Yes I also went to a RCBS Chargemaster when they were first introduced in 2007 still have my Chargemaster along with my RCBS 10-10 scale as backup or small batches of reloading .

Used Hornady brass in Lapua once never again ! Can not stand Lapua loads went to Lapua Brass for my 338 Lapua and never looked back .
