Just picked these up at the taxidermist shop. Very pleased with the work. They sit on a polished pinion stump on a 1” dowel so you can spin them to different angles if desired
Older anyway. Good luck Vince. I’m looking at a plains game hunt but I really need to keep the money close to my home and family for awhile. I’ll have to live vicariously through you
Ironically I have hunted a cow elk in the town of May, Idaho. Lots of elk, loaded her right into the truck. Stomach full of alfalfa but I shot her in some ugly brush where they were hiding out.
Hope yours is a good hunt, I really enjoy elk meat-
I shot a cull impala and a “management” warthog as well. Both with the 7mm-08 and both fun/good experiences. Warthogs I’m a bit different in because I wouldn’t shoot one unless it was for meat or a really good trophy. European hunters are warthog fanatics and I can see why Americans love them...
Impala are easily one of the “greats”. Very common but alert and wary, very athletic. Absolutely beautiful and delicious! It’s one of the animals that should be hunted every time you can get “over there.”
It sounded like you had to buy special reloading dies to be able to re load them. I feel like this is a ploy to keep the 6.5 creed relevant with all the 6.5 prc and similar options available.
Speed doesn’t always equate to accuracy, I guess time will tell
Well the nfl is a business and businesses have to make money. . .
My wife and I have been flying out of our small local airport to other nearby areas it serves. We have been to Denver, Dallas and phoenix watching baseball games. It is inexpensive during the week and the atmosphere is fun. We...
Have you scrolled to the bottom of this page and read through the “similar threads” section. Some very good suggestions if you can be flexible with your powder selection-
I’ve taken a .30-06, .300 wm, 7mm-08 and a .375 wby to Africa in three trips. I killed the most game with the 7 mm-08 and 150 gr ablr which is not considered a “premium” bullet. I’ve never lost an animal but I did miss 2 or three. And recall please that many of these were taken on video and...
the safari culture really caters to hunters AND their spouses. Most places offer side trips or activities for the visiting non hunter. My wife doesn’t hunt but enjoyed the pool and touring nearby towns and especially game parks with lions and elephants etc The park we visited even had a spa...
I’m going to disagree. 212 gr eld x should not shift in 5mph wind at only 100 yards. The biggest flag I see is that you are using new brass rather than once fired. I do prefer a solid rest and never use a bipod for load work up-
