    175 grain ABLR elk recovery

I wouldn’t worry a bit about 175 ABLRs on elk or even moose sized stuff. It’s been a very good hunting bullet for me and my group.

Will Nosler ever make an Accubond 100gr, or greater, in .243 / 6mm??

That bullet seems pretty interesting. I like the Bomdstrikes. Seem about like an Accubond from what I’ve seen.

    7mmRM 175 Part Grand

I’ve used Grand a bit in one of my 7 WSMs and my Mashburn. Seems like a great powder so far and I was liking it enough to grab an 8lber of it after trying it. It is nice in it seems to make about the same speeds as H1000 and is less money per pound which never hurts.

    Which One?

Was talking with an old Marine buddy yesterday. His dad made him up a custom 280 years ago, and I mentioned his dad took much use of another rifle in his arsenal other than maybe a smaller varmint rifle and maybe a big bore for African stuff, since the 280 works so well for about everything in...

    Best targets for open sights?

I pulled the big guy out yesterday. Ran a patch of olive oil down the bore and a dry patch. Its ready to rip.

Favorite Lever Action Rifle and Cartridge

I’ve never tried that approach, but I like your style:cool:

    Best targets for open sights?

I’d think that’d work well. Really anything that’ll show a contrast and not reflect a bunch of light. All this talk has me wanting to get the 50 out to shoot some.

Quick load request 7mm-08 155gr Terminal Ascent, Ramshot Hunter and Superformance

I wouldn't sweat the length of the bullet as much as the bearing surface of it. Chances are, it's less than other normal bullets like the 150 BT's and similar.

    250 ackley new build many????

I don’t think so. The Ackley and CM are enough different I don’t believe you’d get them to work.

Quick load request 7mm-08 155gr Terminal Ascent, Ramshot Hunter and Superformance

I am around 49 grains of Hunter with a 162 ELDM in Lapua brass with CCI250’s. It’s a full case of powder and speeds right at 2700. If Hunter doesn’t get you the speed you want you may wanna try Big Game with the 155. I’d keep pushing up in charge weight, you should be good for 2700 with the...

    243 Winchester again

That’s great you were able to get it back! Pretty solid score and those Huskys are cool rifles.

I came, I saw and I killed my bears (updated pictures)

    Very cool! Great hunt! Congrats.

    Talley Lightweight Scope mounts.

I still have a few sets of them and typically I’ll lap them and put bedding under the bases when I mount them to fix any gap or irregularity in mounting to reduce stress on them. The Leupold Backcountry’s are very nice and seem a bunch tougher. Talleys a great company but I think their LWs...

Quickload request for my new to me Cooper

Beautiful rifle. I’d suggest looking at faster powders rather than reducing slow burning powders.

Staball HD Substitute for Reloder 26

I have used SBHD a bit in my 300 RUM. Worked about the same as Retumbo for me. Not a lot of time with it though. It is a touched hotter on the charts than 26. Ramshot Grand is very similar to 26 in the few things I’ve tried.

Why horizontal stringing? 30-06 with high BC bullets

Something is out of wack. nearly 2800 with SB6.5 is getting up there. Yeah a 5 mph breeze can for sure move a 2MOA load that much at 100 yards.

    Northfork bullets

Yeah, a company called Reloading International stocks em pretty regular. Good normal BG bullets.

    300PRC, riddle me this?

The PRC was made for a SOF unit to shoot 250 ELDs. It needed an 8 twist in order to fully stabilize the bullet. While the 300 Win will stabilize the 212, 215 and even 225-230 bullets it’s not optimal at a 1-10 to get all the BC the bullet has. And I guess where do you find factory loaded...

I need IMMEDIATE HELP with my 336

Make sure you don’t have excessive headspace as well. Your cases may not be fitting the chamber real well and allowing them to lay in there. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve seen new brass that was way too short. There isn’t much shoulder on a 35 REM so that’s a pretty important part to...

280 Rem Loaded to 270 win Pressure

My current favorite 280 load is a 140 Sierra SBT, Partition or BBC using RL26 for about 3150. It’s really a sweet load in my M725.
