175 grain ABLR elk recovery

I'm planning on using 175 grain ABLR on elk this fall. Will be the .284" bullet.

Anyone take a large animal with that one or compable ABLR lately?

Picked up a jug of N570 over the weekend so the experiment with the 28 Nosler - 175 - Peterson brass will soon begin. I have the 1 in 9 twist so hopefully they shoot

The ABLR 150 in my 270 WCF shoots nicely and it's an old school 1 in 10 twist. I feel comfortable with the Ruger out to 400 yards.

The 28 Nosler in the Mountain Carbon is a whole another story, planning on stretching it out this summer to 500 on paper and then 1k on gongs & recording data for my hold over dope

I wouldn’t worry a bit about 175 ABLRs on elk or even moose sized stuff. It’s been a very good hunting bullet for me and my group.
