Besides the ones already mentioned, also look at Maven Optics

here is another site I look at that has some great closeout deals from time to time on optics (don't be afraid to ask for a better deal in their chat, it worked for me)

That is what I built my 264WM on with a 25" standard rem sporter contour , I wasn't going for the lightest I could build, but it is in the 8# range and could drop 4-5oz just replacing the SS bottom metal with Alum.
I guess my method would be considered spot and stock, but it is mostly taking a longish hike with a rifle and backpack and hoping if/when you "spot" something worth "stalking" that you are not already too far from the truck. Sometimes I get lucky 😁
Gil, I guess it depends on what you want to do with the rifle, you know the 700 has any aftermarket part you would ever need. I've only had 1 xbolt. But the Sako is my favorite, i like the butterly smooth bolt, the trigger, the safety, and flush detachable magazine.
No worries my friend! Its all good.
I dont have much of an update on the build, i did put another couple magazines through it yesterday without issue. Took your advice and just broke the edges on the trigger and that seemed to do the trick. Dont feel any more binding. I think one more range...
Dan, is that the same as the salt bath using a lee pot, I've been tempted to try that, but the lead would be much easier to get ahold of vs the salts. I may have to reach out and pick your brain a little.
Good looking CZ, my daughter has a 455 that is in a boyd's barracuda stock, ans i just put a magnum research barrel on it, we had it out today and shoots great, could use some trigger work.
I have the magneto and haven't had any issues, it was my first chrono. Can take a little getting used to, and remembering how to navigate through the display, dont forget the instruction sheet at home. It was nice for checking velocities and looking for a node, but always took it off for...
The neighbor gifted my wife his, it is a Browning BBR, We've shot it a couple times but nothing serious, I have some nosler partitions, both 115 and 129, that have a short ogive that were made for the roberts that i need to develop a load for
Yes the overall widths are different between the single and double stack, but the frame on the single is the same between calibers and you can change the grip panels to make it slimmer or wider, the grip module on the double are basically the same between the different calibers
I have them for my 25.06, when i was researching they sometimes caused pressure spikes, so they started coating them. They shoot fine as I recall but only loaded a couple dozen. And now that im writing this I think I have some 6.5 too that ive never messed with.
