Ive held one of the kimber DS 10s in the store and i have a kimber 2k11 in 9mm and they are similar but didn't have them side by side to really compare
I wouldn't say I am a snob, but they do have to be quality, well built and from a reputable manufacturer(usually USA manuf., but not all). My revolvers are split between Ruger and S&W, with a Kimber thrown in, and range from 22LR to 500S&W. The semi autos have a broader array of manufacturers.
I have shoot several whitetails with a m 94 30-30, and also a single shot H&R when i was younger and much slimmer guy. I know you said max shot would be 200yd but how often would that actually happen in the woods when you're carrying the lever gun? And because of that, why not a 44 mag? Less...
How it currently sits with the 5" barrel and slide. Well actually back in pieces now. All that is left to install is the plunger tube, waiting on the staking tool.
Been able to run all of the safety checks and currently all pass, has taken fitting/adjusting bit by bit.

Update, didn't like how the slide/barrel fit the frame i think the lower lugs were over cut so have a 5" on the way, if its the same i will then i will decide if I want to file the frame.
Other than that i have fit the trigger and grip safety
So this weekend the plan is to install the internals...
