Dale, I had an 11-87 Super Mag 12 ga 3.5” magnum. It cycled the 3.5” shells without a hitch but wouldn’t cycle 3” or 2.75” shells. I cleaned and cleaned, changed gas rings and still wouldn’t cycle. I sent it down the road and never looked back. JD338

As a side note, the 142 gr ABLR is pretty effective on woodchuck. I clobbered one at 100 yds with the 6.5 Wby RPM. JD338

Gil, I agree with your choice of 150 gr bullets for the 280 Remington. If the BT doesn’t pan out, consider the 150 gr AB, ABLR or PT. Any one of those would definitely step up your 280 Rem should a bigger target of opportunity present itself while out hunting. JD338
