Thank you I appreciate it. I’m sorry and saddened to hear your loss. They are part of the family. They give unconditional love freely, They comfort us when we are down, and somehow they always know. They will work fields until their feet bleed, they will work it until they drop and never complain.
I lost my son as well. There is no pain worse than losing a child. No matter the age. It broke me inside for a couple years and we still grieve. He was supposed to put me in the ground. Now add losing a pet that truly is a member of the family. I’m so sorry for the loss and hurt your feeling. My...
I figure I’d develop a load with 130 grain Ballistic Tips, and use that load for hunting with the Accubonds. I’ve never shot an Accubond but Ballistic Tips have been accurate in everything I have used them in.
That is what the jacket on the 175gr Accubond should look like. They don’t retain enough weight for my liking. I do really like this new Swift bullet. If it takes off, and I think it will, it may force Nosler the redesign the Accubond LR to retain more wight.
The plated jacket of the Fusion holds onto the core extremely well. I haven’t used the deep curl but the 150 grain GOLD DOT holds together like a piece of chewed babble gum. Retaining 99% weight on that deer I shot with one few years ago with a gold dot dropped where it stood. Double lung and...
I ordered 650 of them for my 270 WSM. I’m going to finally take ammo in the woods that isn’t a Partition this year. Believe it or not this will be the first time I’ve loaded or used AB’s. I’ve always used the partition. I worked up a good load with the 130gr Partition, so hopefully the AB’s...
I've loaded a fairly long time but haven't used many presses. Started with a RCBS Rockchucker, then went to the cast iron LEE "O" frame press. I got the Frankfort Arsenal M Press aa few years ago and love it. It's a coaxial press and loads very consistent ammo. It looks like the Forster but with...
I have the Garrison in 45. I don’t have anything bad to say about it. After 100 rounds its action smooths out to as slick as the Kimber it replaced. High quality and it’s accurate. Can’t go wrong with one.
Thank you. I don’t have any need for real dangerous game defense loads. Black bear is the biggest I’ll encounter. Your last Power Pistol load is the one that I’ll be testing next. That load with the XTP, really caught my attention. I did forget to say that I needed to buy a barrel bushing for...
I think I’m going to back off a little to 2925ish fps and shoot it this summer. Still a very effective load but a little less stress on the equipment. I’ll never notice that 75 fps on game.
I still need to check it when it’s warmer but it has potential. Velocity gains were gradual and smooth. I think it may work out. Also looking at the MSDS it looks to only have three ingredients. Just a straight forward ball powder. I did however add TubbDust to it.
