Nice shooting Guy. I have an exact color and grips as your Kimber. Mine is a .38 Super Stainless Target II, and a ways back I had changed the grips with a Crimson Trace laser grip due to my aging eyes. I still have the original grips in a box somewhere. I have done the same for my .45 Kimber...
Ernie, what powder are you using for the 6.5 x 284? Try the H4831sc if you haven't tried it, it plain shoots great in mine.
The ABLR bullet was fussy in my 7 Mag when I tested it long ago, switched it to AB and Scirocco and never looked back. My 6.5 x 284 loves the 143 ELD-X and H4831sc. Wish...
Excellent shooting. Sure is fun having new toys to play with at the range. I remember that brand name, Ronin. Guy had posted that he has one of those but in the .45 with the optics if not mistaken.
No cab on mine either. It's easy running my International with the plow into the wind in a straight line for nearly a mile, and sucks when I'm heading back down the line on the next pass with the wind. All that dust isn't cool.
Close to 3000 fps is fast. I never tried Retumbo in my 6.5 x 284. I think Retumbo may be a bit too slow for this caliber. H1000 / RL 26 is a step up on burn rate over the Retumbo, if you have these powder choices, maybe give it a try. H4831sc is my best powder for this caliber. What primers...
Hung out with my brother in law at the range yesterday to put in some pistol shooting on the loads I made for the .38 Super and .45 with the Holosuns. Winds were brisk and variable right to left and cloudy. Was a nice day out. At 50 yards, off the bench , top left of the bullseye was one of...
My .308 loves Varget, RL-15 and H4895, those are the only powders I ever tried in this rifle. I use different flavors of bullets, 150, 165, 168 Ballistic Tips, 178 ELD-X and M. They all shoot great and textbook performance in deer and hog sized game. There are other powders that others have...
When the strong March winds starts howling, it tells me its spring time, fishing season is here with water temps creeping up to 70 degrees. My boat is at the dealer for spring maintenance to do the 20 hour oil change and lower unit oil on my Suzuki 4 stroke. Need to put some fish in the...
Similar scenario of tick infestations we had when I took my chocolate lab and my Jack Russell on a whitewing hunt on our place, there is a sorghum field with the sun at our backs. Each time we down a bird, the dogs and i would walk between the rows and look for them. When we get home after the...
I'm in the same boat Dan is in, got the brass, bullets, primers and powder, but still waiting on the 6 BRA and the dies from Bat Machine. Plus the SEB rest and bullbag from Ernie.
Good stuff Jory . H4895 is a great powder too, I like it. I used it for the 308 with the 150-155's. I'll try that H4895 and Varget when the BRA comes in. My current Lapua brass, new lot of 3 boxes I just bought two weeks ago. Used one box for the BR, and had to switch from .266 bushing to .267...
